My boss is an avid cycling enthusiast. Recently, he replaced his good old and perfectly working Roam 2 with a Roam 3, and now he’s asking to share his pain and to find out: has anyone else experienced similar issues?
So, here’s the deal:
- Roam 3 by itself sometimes disables some of the alerts
- Roam 3 sometimes switches to indoor cycling mode, even though there is only a cycling profile and Roam 3 is running outdoors
- Roam 3 lost the Wahoo heart rate monitor and could not find it during a 5-hour race. The next morning, the monitor was found on the first try. Sometimes сouldn’t find it even when I was riding alone and there were no other heart rate monitors nearby.
- If there are multiple synchronized power meters (there are two bikes in the family), it’s unclear how to choose the one I’m currently riding. Automatically connects someone, and there’s no way to change it
- In general, Roam 3 is much less stable than Roam 2
We’ve already contacted tech support, and maybe he just got unlucky with two bike computers in a row… but perhaps someone out there has dealt with this before and has tips for fixing the glitches.
