I’m going to try running the app on my Windows laptop. Should I use ANT or Bluetooth?
Try Bluetooth first. It’s snappier to respond than ant. If you get resistance issues, just switch the ant+ mid ride
Wilco. Thanks for the advice.
This thread kinda breaks my heart to see this has been going on since Oct. 1. I’ve been having the same issue since late October hoping the fix would come around. I’ve run this with iOS and a Windows; erg and level mode; re-downloaded and updated my firmware; Bluetooth and ant+; the problem persists. I’ve run other training programs without any issues to verify it wasn’t my trainer. And to top it off, in the old sufferfest days, when you had problem you would get a real response; wahoo just sends stock emails that are useless. I guess I’m just lending my voice here in hopes that someone from wahoo hears that this is so frustrating to consumers who have been on this platform for years and are now thinking about leaving because the program isn’t working and the company is virtually non-responsive. I’m holding out hope that this gets resolved soon because I have loved the sufferfest; but the reality is if the program doesn’t work, what choice am I left with.
Still trying to get my head around if there is a problem with my trainer or if its the Systm software…
Here is an image of an ERGworkout direct from the taxc app today with corresponding cadence. Does this look normal? I’m new to smart trainers.
Just seems quite spikey
@Wheresthefishies Some questions:
- Are you in ERG mode on your trainer? If not, put it in ERG mode.
- If you are in ERG mode, does pedalling feel uneven?
To my eye, the chart doesn’t look particularly alarming. Even in ERG mode (where the trainer tries to keep power constant), power still isn’t (and can’t be) completely constant through the whole pedal stroke and the trainer takes a moment to adjust to variations in cadence (power is exceptionally sensitive to cadence–even very small variations). So there’s always some bounciness on the chart–but it shouldn’t feel bouncy. For illustration, here’s one of my power charts from a recent recovery ride.
The chart is a little bumpy, but the the ride felt totally fine.
Here’s my 101w recovery ride from yesterday. All on ERG mode compared to my Cadence.
That one spike at the beginning is when I got off my bike because I realized I forgot to turn on my fan.
Cadence is far from steady. And without power smoothing on there are plenty of bumps and jags. That’s pretty normal. Only way to make it look almost perfectly flat is to turn on power smoothing on your trainer and then also turn on power smoothing in SUF. But that’s just giving you 3-second power smoothing and is not real time power.
So, your power zags look pretty normal.
At least once a week!
I cunningly avoid this problem by not having a fan
Hi All
Is there any update to this issue for those Users with Tacx trainers? I had to bin off SYSTM having been a Suff user since 2019 after originally raising this just after the Suff > SYSTM change.
Has there been any fixes / updates that have resolved the problem?
Thanks in advance
@Matthew_Thomas Check your version - I think it was in 7.16. I can’t confirm as I don’t have a Tacx trainer.
Thanks JSampson…
I don’t actually have a version anymore as since I cancelled my Subscription I deleted the apps. I was hoping for anyone else on this thread maybe who experienced the issue directly could update if theirs was now working?
Thanks again!
Any joy anyone? Surely someone with a Flux must be able to say whether they’re using SYSTM ok?
Release notes for iOS indicate a fix has been published
I update the app, and still ERG mode is not working, power is always below target.
Do you have any luck?
I get this issue intermittently with my flux s. I thought it was when the trainer was cold but it happened today and the trainer has been in the house all week. It’s the second trainer as I had a warranty replacement for another fault, but it’s happened with both. I was doing FTP/MAP builds today and as soon as the power came up for the warm up it was under shooting the target by ~20 watts.
Hi,
Some people with the same issue downgraded the firmware, I tried it but didn’t work.
You should try it, there is a Facebook group with all the details.
Good luck.
Thanks. I reinstalled SYSTM earlier as others had suggested that was the issue. If that doesn’t solve it I’ll try that.
