Target BPM

Where does “Target BPM” pull data from? I did a SYSTM workout outside and my Elemnt showed NA during the entire time.

Um, I may be off “target” here… but were you wearing a heart monitor belt? And was it paired and connected to the Elemnt?
Maybe the NA was simply saying the Elemnt was getting no heart rate data?
Sometimes an update causes sensor connections to be lost… and a weak battery in an HRM will result in no signal to other devices…

My assumption is it ideally would show the target heart rate for the interval. My HR monitor showed my current heart rate. Before each interval, the Elemnt would show the target watts, but I don’t have a power meter. I wonder if there is a “button” to toggle to get heart rate rather than power.

So, I kind of used a combo of RPE and what I thought the rate should be. I ended up with a ride with a bit more intensity than prescribed, which was satisfying.

Ahh. I see. I don’t think they’ve exported target HR at this time. I’m sure it’s on the roadmap though. With MANY other things.

the short answer is It doesn’t.

I work off RPE based on the text instructions and remembering. HR zones for longer efforts for outdoor workouts.

One other thing to note is HR shows WHERE you’ve been, not current effort. A great example is 15 second sprints. You go all out and your HR remains high for about a minute after while you are in recovery.
