The 2026 wahooligan tour stage 1 - official race thread

Stage 1 done. The TT effort from the Giro not easy for me but Cash Register plays to my strengths.

I liked the new footage from 2024 Tour d’Alps. And the new DPF Video. This Sufferlandrian is happy with that.

It’s a hard knock life.

Hi! Any idea when the Your Prep Badge may be acknowledged? Dint know if this is a glitch or a problem on my end. This is the second time a completed challenge wasn’t immediately acknowledged.

Please forward if appropriate. Thanks, I appreciate what you do.

Sir Terry.

Sufferlandrian Tour Day 2 (Wahoo Day 1) Stages are Complete! It was…not a day which played to my strengths…

I started my career today with The Rookie. In order to get the most out of the stages which are my weakness and be able to go at 100%, I followed with the Giro then Cash Register after a pause under Knighthood Rules (where I include a quick yoga session).

(The Heck you are! I just got these!)

The Giro was okay. While the workout was hard, and good Suffering, I swear the description said there was no talking or music. Cash Register was a nice “break” with only a few attacks to worry about.

After dinner, I went back at it with The Long Scream. I’m not sure who’s genius idea it was to end the day with a TT with no warmup… Right. Never mind.

(Fresh bread, cheese and pickles, and NA Porter)

Music choices: The Rookie, Clamati de Profundus and Windrose; Giro and Cash, Powerwolf; Long Scream, my Funny Pub evening playlist to take my mind off the effort.

Garmin load; 740 to 1469. Hours to recovery 60hrs to 95…then down to 91 after doing The Long Scream. I already broke their algorithm. I slept poorly last night due to the late workout, and probably will do so again today. Both today and yesterday were 4000 calorie days…send doughnuts please.

Recovery drink today was NA Porter. It isn’t terrible, and while lacking body, does scratch the itch for beer with my cheese.

Man, this stage went horrible for me.

I use a dumb trainer with a power meter on my bike. My PM was having battery door issues and kept cutting out.

I was kinda pedaling blind at where to be for targets.

To add to my pain, I was trying to watch my Ducks hockey game at the same time. Lots of buffering issues.

So, it was a struggle.

I kinda fixed my issues between 1A and 1B.

And, my Ducks won in OT.

I haven’t forgiven Deschutes Brewery for discontinuing Buzzsaw Brown.

This year’s tour is over for me before it has even really begun. I’ve caught a really nasty virus. Even the 400 meters walk to the doctor feels like an all out sprint :worried:
But I’ll be standing by the route, cheering you on, having bottles of real pagne ready for everyone and will donate some extra money.

I wish you, my fellow Sufferlandrians all the best.

Sounds like you have an alternate, permanent tour of sorts already. Keep up the good work!
