🎺🎺🎺 The Wahooligan Tour 2023 - Registration is Open! 🎺🎺🎺

What is The Wahooligan Tour?

The Wahooligan Tour is a 7-day challenge showcasing the amazing and diverse workouts across Wahoo X. Taking you beyond the borders of Sufferlandria into the world of Wahoo X, this is an event which takes you to new places, testing your mental toughness and physical limits - and all to benefit the Davis Phinney Foundation and their quest to help people with Parkinson’s live well today.

Why isn’t this the Tour of Sufferlandria anymore?

In 2018, the Sufferfest became part of the Wahoo family and in 2022 we celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the Tour of Sufferlandria. Just as we made the legendary Sufferfest content accessible to more people by placing it within the SYSTM platform, we wanted to expand the Tour by adding more experiences beyond The Sufferfest. With The Wahooligan Tour, we can include a variety of stages that The Tour of Sufferlandria never could – whether that’s dropping into the middle of the World Tour Peloton with a ProRide, taking on a challenging session from A Week With or trying to keep up on the climbs of On Location. Not only that, but with RGT now part of Wahoo X, we can bring a sense of community and real-time interaction that was never possible before.

Is this still raising money for the Davis Phinney Foundation?

Absolutely. The Tour of Sufferlandria has been a key event for Sufferlandrians and more recently Wahooligans with the primary goal of raising funds and awareness for the Davis Phinney Foundation and its programs to help those affected by Parkinson’s Disease. Since the Tour began in 2013, participants have raised over $1.5M for the foundation allowing them to increase their reach and programs offered to help everyone with Parkinson’s disease live better. We believe that by expanding the Tour in this manner, more people will take on the challenge and we’ll raise more money for the Davis Phinney Foundation than ever before.

Registration for the Wahooligan Tour is now open, click here to register

If you haven’t ridden a virtual Tour before and are wondering what to expect, read on.

How It Works

  • Register by donating $15 USD to the Davis Phinney Foundation through the Wahooligan tour event page. By registering, you automatically earn one chance to win from the extensive prize pool.
  • For every additional $10 you donate or fundraise, you earn one additional chance in the prize pool. So for example, if you register with the initial $15 donation and raise or donate an additional $100, that gives you 11 chances to win. Even better: Start a fundraising page and ask your friends to donate to your cause.
  • For seven days in a row, ride the workouts that are part of the Official Route on the designated days.
  • Make your Race Bib and wear it proudly!
  • Load Your Plan in the SYSTM app.
  • Want to be a part of the community? Join the Wahoo X Forum. It’s the Official Race Village where challenges are made, tales of glory are shared, and prizes are lusted after. Not required, but totally worth it!
  • When it’s all over, if you completed all of the stages on the designated days, you’ll earn the Wahooligan Tour badge in your virtual trophy case. If you want extra memorabilia, you can also purchase the official tour poster
  • One week after the Tour ends, we’ll tally all the donations and randomly select winners for the prize pool. Remember, the more you fundraise, the more chances you have to win.

The Wahooligan Tour is a chance for the community to come together to help make a difference. It’s fun, it’s challenging, and you’ll earn the chance to win some amazing prizes. Most importantly, it’s a chance to raise money for the Davis Phinney Foundation and their programs that help those affected by Parkinson’s.

Okay Sir, I’m in! Besides, I can never leave

While I just can’t call myself a Wahoolithingamajig, I’m 100% up for the challenge and welcome ALL newcomers and old timers.

Looking forward to seeing y’all at the start line!!

Edit: just officially registered

Any idea when the stage rides are going to be announced?

From the linked page:

Where does it take place?

Mainly in the SYSTM app but you will also need the RGT app to be more engaged with the community.

Interesting wording there on how RGT will be used… I’m wondering if there’s a stage that can be completed in either SYSTM or RGT? Guess we’ll learn more at the route reveal.

Route Announcement coming at you on January 25th but would love to hear any speculation on what the route looks like this year :goat:

I don’t care what the route is as long as @michael.cotty dresses as some sort of farmyard animal and that @Coach.Neal.H eats or drinks something disgusting during any effort above 100% MAP.

All signed Up! Although I may not find myself in a position to ride, I’ll try to pop in now and again. GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!

No speculation from me, sorry. I will wait to register until I know what I am registering for. Just the way I roll. (pun intended)

Just to clarify, is RGT required to do the tour or is will all be in SYSTEM.

You won’t HAVE to use RGT to do The Wahooligan Tour. You can do it all on SYSTM. But you might have more fun if you do. Once the route is announced on the 25th, you’ll understand a bit more.

I’m at a conference in Kyoto during this time!
Impossible for me to do the tour. I was looking forward to it so much. What a shock! I’m totally devastated.
I participated at each tour since I started cycling in 2017 and finished all of them ‘nuclear’!
Man, what a s¥!t timing for me.
Anything I can do about it?

The Do What to Who Again Tour?

Not keen on the Tour of Whatchamacallit, but I’ll definitely be signing up for it, anyway. Because… well… I can never leave.

”A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”

Email the minions. They might be able to accommodate an Alt Tour for you (and others?)

Signed up too and awaiting for the training plan, route and the bib :relieved:

Yeah, I was thinking the same.
Or maybe they could do it like a challenge.
The only conditions being that you have to keep the order, do them 7 days in a row (so no rest day) and you have to finish by the 31st of March.
This way I would be able to raise money, get the batch and participate in the raffle (if there is one).

I’m in! Looking forward to finding out about the route.

Unlike some others, the timing works out well for me. I’ll be back home in the US after a few weeks of summertime visiting family and friends in Australia. I won’t be well trained, but I will be well rested.
