Today was a pure Sufferlandrian stage with Joyride, followed by The Best Thing in the World. Joyride is a short half hour of decreasing Vo2 intervals. TBTitW consists of 2x 13min race efforts with plenty of attacks.
I plan to do the Cotty ride tomorrow.
They went largely well. Recovery time from 24 to 57hrs, and TL 1238 to 1565. Still Productive, and Vo2max may have gone up a touch.
Music choices were Dahm the Bard, and Windrose respectively.
I did Col de Rates & 9 Hammers. Just those 2 was painful enough. I could barely turn the pedals at the START of 9 Hammers. Can’t imagine how I would’ve felt trying to then do G.O.A.T. I think my knees and back would’ve just siezed up and I would’ve lain on the floor until someone came to rescue me.
Did a double on Tuesday and Friday because work interfered Wednesday and Thursday. So I was working tired Friday, but still rested for there is no try/coll de rates. I felt great. I was thinking maybe I need a full frontal update, but then I did team scream and almost blacked out at the end. Oof. Still better than the other doubles and triples mentioned above. I think the only triple for me will be spelled tripel. I am finishing Sunday with cobbler - original - and counting last Saturday’ knight ride as stage 0 for a true 9 day tour.
