The 2026 wahooligan tour stage 7 - official race thread

The Wahooligan Tour STAGE 7:

NINE HAMMERS + G.O.A.T.

Stage 7 is our Queen Stage — the grand finale of the Wahooligan Tour — featuring two legendary sessions: Nine Hammers, a true Sufferlandrian classic that keeps the pressure on with relentless, barely-there recoveries, and GOAT, a high-torque grind that challenges your strength and focus with every pedal stroke. Together, they deliver a fitting final mountain — tough, uncompromising, and deeply rewarding. It’s the kind of day where we dig deeper than we thought possible, lift each other through the hardest moments, and empty the tank side by side in support of the Davis Phinney Foundation and everyone living with Parkinson’s.

RIDE WITH TEAM DPF

Don’t ride it alone — join the live Zoom and take on the stage with Team DPF. It’s a straightforward way to stay accountable, share the effort, and connect with others who are showing up for the same reason. No pressure — just a group of people doing the work and supporting the Davis Phinney Foundation together. Log in, ride your ride, and be part of it.

And for those true Sufferlandrians out there, we will also be riding Kitchen Sink to close it out.

Sadly I don’t think I’ll have time to join in with kitchen sink as have a family gathering. Chapeau to all those that do!

Thanks, I’ve updated the details in Helga’s post too.

Stage 7 in the bag, tour all done! Was a bit surprised to manage it all at 100%. GOAT was deceptively hard, could feel my left hamstring for the last couple of efforts.

Hardest stage by far was Team Scream. Good luck to everyone with the remaining stages wherever you’re up to so far.

Well that’s a wrap, 2026 & final tour in the bag :oncoming_fist::white_check_mark:

Came in with zilch prep/legs so nuclear was never an option, just wanted to pace myself to the finish. Started slightly dialled back on Stage 1, then 95% for stages 2-6, then 100% to close out stage 7. In the end it was nearly those over geared grinds in GOAT that broke me, but Knight kit helped me power through to the finish - job done :slightly_smiling_face:

@Rupert @Helga noticed the badge isn’t showing yet in SYSTM even though all the rides are marked as Done, these getting applied at the end or have the minions been up to their mischief?

Finished Stage7 this morning, to complete at full bias this year, it’s been a fun challenge and has rekindled my love for Sufferfest style workouts. Feeling the strain now but that’s not a bad feeling, and I’ll join the Zoom for a steady 2hrs if I can today. Well done everyone who’s taking part, next up is FF test in a week, it’s been a while!

Congrats on completing the Tour! Yes the pesky minions are at it again but if you allow 24hours after Tour completion the badge will light up for you on the progress page :flexed_biceps:

Finished Stage 7 last night. It was a good’er this year. I have some previous commitments this weekend so I was very grateful for the flexibility in the scheduling this year to be able to wrap up a bit early.

The ToS has been a really big part of my cycling life and it will be missed (you know, aside from all the pain and agony).

Best wishes for much suffering to all who are participating this year!

Epic end to the Tour of Sufferlandria! Transcended to a new plane of existence with the final 15 seconds of the 9th hammer. Felt strong and confident to finish my nuclear tour. Goat broke me! I underestimated it and needed an emergency coca-cola halfway through. But I struggled and made the final interval the smoothest of them all.

I have valued the role of the Tour each winter since 2021 not only for the goal setting and camaraderie but also for its support of the DPF. My great uncle and grandfather both died from Parkinson’s related complications. This ride is for them.

This year, it was also for me. My sister was diagnosed over the summer with a terrible cancer (DSRTC). Through the fall, she underwent intensive chemo and surgery. Now she’s currently at no evidence of disease and doing light maintenance chemo. I’ve very close with her, literally and figuratively. I live nearby and have been there to take her to treatments, watch my nephew, and help with all the little things. This tour, while she’s in a good spot, was a chance to focus on my goals and mental strength.

Finally, this tour was for all of you, my fellow Sufferlandrians. Thanks for going on this epic journey.

Hammer 9 almost got me, that was hard!

Just the small matter of a G.O.A.T to deal with now.

And done. The postman walked up to my garage during my last interval. He didn’t get much conversation bit he witnessed this….

Well done! Best wishes for your sister.

I split up stage 7 with GOAT last night and 9H first thing this morning. Have appointments to meet the rest of the day, so I couldn’t burn up in flames ending on nuclear like originally planned..

Thank you all for the rousing participation here in the forum. Best wishes to Davis, Connie, Lauren and the team at DPF.

I’m confident that despite this being the last “current format” of the tour (whatever that means), that Sufferlandrians will keep on supporting the DPF going forward.

Every victory counts

If the Tour has proved anything it is that I will never become a KoS. Kudos to all who have that honour. In the meantime I’m pretty pleased to have got through the ToS.

Never say never. I never, in a million years thought I could do it either. Hence, with the help of the SUF Mental Training Programme, it became my Mt. Sufferlandria and, after a year of careful planning and prep I willed it into being.

And, having done it, realized that we are all capable of much MUCH more than we think. Please don’t hesitate to hit us, any of us, up either privately or in a separate thread if you’d like to discuss further. The entire nation of Sufferlandria is behind you.
