🎺🎺🎺 The Wahooligan Tour 2023 - Registration is Open! 🎺🎺🎺

It doesn’t match the colour scheme or style of the OGs so a bit of a shock.

I’ve registered for this on the event page, but I don’t see how it’s connected to the Systm app. Is there a connection, or is the Wahooligan Tour badge in the Systm app completely disconnected from the DPF registration? In other words, is it possible to complete the tour and earn the badge without registering for the event and donating to the cause?

So…is it possible to complete the tour w/o completing the tour?

I’m not saying anyone would do this and it might actually be possible but it wouldn’t be honourable. That badge would see right into the soul of whoever never earned it.

Yes you can download the weeks plan and just ride it as a series of workouts but C’mon!! this is for a good cause and will only cost you at the most $15 (£ 12 or so if you are in the UK) Getting the badge without donating would be like printing off fake qualifications that you haven’t earned. Do it right or just ride the plan at a different time… let your conscience decide!!

I knew someone would miss this first part of my post!

I saw that, hence my confusion. If you “registered for the event” then you had to have paid in your initial entry, which means you donated, which means…you’re riding the tour. As for the rest, yes, if you are registered and ride the posted tour stages within the specified 50 hour window, you will earn the badge in Sufferfest. I mean SYSTM. Whatever.

To answer the original qustion:
No, I don’t believe so. I was under the impression (perhaps mistakenly) that although there is no direct link between SYSTM and the DPF, the Minions do some behind the scenes voodoo so that can only get the badge if you’re a paid up registered rider. Presumably this is based on matching email addresses across the two platforms.

Well, some kind of minion magic will be needed this year cuz Stage 7A is an either RGT or SYSTM ride. I don’t think you’d have to be paid up though cuz you can get a 2 week free trial and do the tour during that to get the badge.

Stage 7B though is just on RGT and no one is getting any kind of credit for that one, unless credit means regret :stuck_out_tongue:

Interesting, if that’s true it could be a problem because I used a different email address for the DPF sign up. Still, I’m sure the minions can fix it if needed. I just wanted to make sure there was no extra step needed to link The DPF sign up with my SYSTM account.

My guess would be that it goes something like:

  • Anytime after stage 1 closes you extract a list of all users that have registered/paid on DPF
  • Using that list a batch process runs through the SYSTM user list and sets a suitable “DPF” flag
  • Only profiles with the DPF flag plus all the individual stage flags earn the badge

So, yes, if you used two email addresses it would be worth checking with the Minions to make sure you get the badge.

I am lost now? What is stage 7B? there is nothing showing on the plan and 7A is not showing on RGT yet. I have asked before about the RGT ride not showing but no-one has answered cheers

7B is the post TGTTOS ride up the Stelvio on RGT without the workout, in level mode, with trainer settings at 100%. So, an actual climb sim, however suffing long it takes to get to the end. It’ll be like fun.

Oh and @ozmadman the official Stage 7 is likely to be an event(s) created by The Company to be ridden at several times throughout the 50 hour window. It’s pretty easy to set up a workout and group event in RGT so I wouldn’t worry. My plan for 7A is to run TGTTOS on SYSTM in ERG while also riding one of the RGT events (once it is set up) where RGT will just passively record my output. I’m doing this in case RGT glitches during the event (once it is set up). Stay tuned. I am sure Sir @Rupert will post something once the events are created.

can you ride both at once? I use a laptop for my rides and I have an android phone so can i ride the Systm one on the laptop and the RGT one on the phone. presuming both will download onto Strava unless I switch one of them off??

Thanks, clearer now, cheers

can the tour be done in a single day? Kind of Knighthood junior…
Asking for a friend

No, because the stage windows don’t all over lap.
Like you could do it all in one day, but you won’t get the badge.

Yes. But you’d have to do it every day, for 7 days :smiling_imp:

I am beginning to think more and more that Sufferlandria will all but a distant memory in a few years within the app.
