Couldn’t agree more with Sir @JamesJordan and Sir @Eric .
The Decline and Fall of ‘Holy’ Sufferlandrian Empire (to mangle Gibbon!) is pretty much done.
I protested at the the time of the Wahoo takeover, and was greeted with soothing platitudes.
Something really creative has been killed, but sadly, I just don’t care any more.

You and Sir @Eric should come join some other Knights on Sir @emacdoug’s Knights of Sufferlandria Team doing the wahoolathingamajig tour. The name’s different but the purpose is the same, that is, to help out the Davis Phinney Foundation, get a chance or two to win some prizes, work our assets off, have fun and support each other. I envy your great March weather Sir @JamesJordan , outside of fatbiking, realistically, outdoor road rides don’t start in this part of Agonia until April if we’re lucky

yep yep. They said as much. Coming soon(ish). S’posed to be Route Announcement on Jan 25 with plans to start Jan 30 if you can trust the minions with time and such

#1 The asymmetry you eloquently articulate DameCristy I recognise in this situation too - and feel it quite strongly; which itself makes it hard to align with the Tour of the Wahooligans, even for charity.
#2 However light-hearted the use of the word Hooliganism is in the USA, elsewhere, certainly in Europe, that really is not so.
My country was utterly shamed by hooliganism which infested football (soccer) and only truly confronted it after the Heysel Stadium Disaster of 1985.
That might seem like a long time ago but it really wasn’t - people across Europe remember, and sadly some will always live with pain from the era.
Of the hooliganism, our Prime Minister of the time said this in her speech to Parliament the following week:
To associate myself with hooliganism in any way, well no, I’m sorry.
Personally I won’t be doing that, not in any aspect of my life, public or private - even knowing that Wahoo didn’t mean “that kind of hooligan” when it adopted the term Wahooligan.
That as they say, is just the way I roll - and may be just my “hang-up”; so good luck to the fundraisers all the same.

Unfortunately SYSTM can only recognise workouts done on the platform and not outdoor workouts yet. You could always ride it once inside and then again outside @aerobrain 
The training plan is nearly finalized and we will be making them available on Wednesday so you have time to get it loaded into your calendar to start on January 30th.
We are also still on track for the route announcement on the 25th and will be posting on social media but I’ll also start a thread on here

I think colloquially speaking my meaning is understood.
As for the little social science literature I have read on the subject, forums are generally not included in social media.
If you want to have such a broad definition, social media existed in the 1980s with computer bulletin board systems.

Route announcement day tomorrow!!
I know I was negative/nervous about some of the things that have been said and what that may mean in terms of the appeal of the event. But I absolutely do hope I’m proven wrong so looking forward to the route announcement tomorrow!
