And THANKS you Sir Chris for the extra $. Glad ut was the best money you ever spent! Apologies (and relieved) for not getting stung!
You’re welcome! I figure the logistics of dragging a Kickr Bike outside AND riding with bees was worth an extra donation.
Another year done and dusted.
Maybe next year we raise money for the tour de suisse.
That tour keeps reducing its stages. I am guessing that it’s due to funding.
Without the video from that race I think SYSTM would have nothing to use for its future content.
I loved seeing the bees zooming around, and thank you for showing us their hives after!
Hauling your setup outside is a feat in itself, wow.
Next up, we still have Brann Mac Finchad doing his wild alttour suffering 2026 The Wahooligan Tour: Brann Mac Finnchad - Davis Phinney Foundation
And then tomorrow is Sir Ruben’s quest, and zoom ride with DPF, Davis and Alex and company!
Much more to come!
Bummed I can’t catch them all. Enjoy all!
My HR was definitely higher from hauling the Kickr hahahaha. Thing weighs a ton
I almost forgot. I grabbed some screen shots! For those who missed it. One near the start, and one near the very end…
Well this is going to hurt more than usual. No video for Kitchen Sink.
Using my old pc to run it so I could dual record and still have my phone free. But set it up last second and didn’t have the video pre-downloaded. Sigh.
All I have is this fortuitously timed screenshot.
Edit: so, after 12 minutes of black screen I saved it and downloaded the video (which somehow worked) and then picked back up where I left off.
So…. Back to my regularly scheduled bonus suffering.
Edit: edit: Video wouldn’t stream on either my phone or pc. But apparently it would download, albeit slowly.
This being after I rode G.O.A.T. with no issues.
My legs didn’t appreciate the extra long break after the Igniter warm-up in KS.
Hell hath no fury as GvA scorned.
Edit: edit: edit: at least I was dual recording, so I have record of most of my fruitless pedaling while wishing for the video to load and then waiting for it to download.
Gaah!
Ouch! Go Sir Six-pack!
No vid kitchen sink would be the ultimate torture.. Just thinking about it makes me queasy.
Almost halfway thru KS now. Dual recording on Zwift in the weekly Knight Ride. Watching Sir Ruben eat donuts. So many shenanigans today!
I have some of those laying around ![]()
I joined the Knight ride while watching Sir Ruben’s donut dash and riding Kitchen Sink as promised, despite all my tech issues.
Kitchen Sink is now done! ![]()
Now to finalize my month of Nine Hammers.
And if you can all get me the rest of the way to $2k in donations I will ride an unofficial KOS as described above… and maybe find a way to live stream it too.
Good luck!
Thanks, all!
Final notes:
I think thru GOAT and Kitchen Sink I managed to get my 50 birthday miles in today, one day early for tomorrow. ![]()
![]()
Happy Birthday ahead of time Sir @emacdoug ! We could see you (but not hear you) on the Zoom. Thanks for participating and knocking out the miles. Company makes the miles pass more quickly. Have a great rest of your ride.
Yeah, I had too many devices going at the same time and was too busy suffering thru Kitchen Sink to be able to mute and unmute. Chatting on the Knight Ride was about all I was capable of doing. ![]()
And I didn’t want my suffering noises to upset your donut consuming. ![]()
It was nice being on and supporting you however I could! ![]()
Chapeau, Sir Evan!
That was true SUF. I was good through 9H and GOAT. The HHNF section of Kitchen Sink used me up, and I couldn’t dial the effort back fast enough at the start of Shovel, had I been on the road, I likely would have just tipped over. The Violator section wasn’t much better, but I recovered to make it through. Oh, and the nap after was FANTASTIC!
Since I was in such a good mood after finishing the Tour, I decided to give you a good hammering. Nonetheless, since I am such a good guy, you can use whatever implement you wish.
Hahahaaaaa Sir Evan! ![]()

Congratulations on reaching level (9x9H+1)!
That’s if I’m counting right. It’s hard to keep up with everything this tour.
Welp, Shenanigans Level 4 it is!
Honestly, with all the craziness going on the world and especially this country right now I’ve had huge difficulties getting donations from all my regular friends a family that usually donate in all the mid-small amounts that add up. And I figured @Heretic that you had already spent so much on me that I had already earned my share and you had doled out your donations to all other very worthy participants.
I’m not sure if I can say at the moment that I am pleasantly surprised, but I’m definitely surprised, tho not completely. I figured if it was going to happen at this point, all signs pointed to you being the one to make it happen.
I am happy to have raised this much money (that likely says more about you than me - but at least I was a catalyst, while you were the action man).
So I am somewhat pleased an excited, but more so a bit fearful of how much I’ve bitten off with these shenanigans. But the final Tour of Sufferlandria deserves a proper salute, no?
So, with many thanks to you and those that donated, I have completed the follow shenanigans:
Level 1: Back-to-back Fight Clubs ![]()
Level 2: Kitchen Sink to end stage 7 ![]()
And I have the following to finalize and complete:
Level 3: A month of Nine Hammers
Level 4: Unofficial 9H KOS quest
This should be, uhm, interesting. ![]()

That is Tour de Sufferlandria Stage EIGHT completed, and the Wahoo!$@n Tour completely done with some addons. One day to go.. Apparently, all the official stage threads have now closed…50hrs early. Some minions need to be sent to flogging stations!
We started the day climbing with Mike Cotty on Col D’Rates. This is an unmastering of a more classic Sufferfest video, and while the workout is the same, the atmosphere is lacking. Also, why is Sir Stands-a-Lot spending so much time seated? Went smoothly, and no issues with completion. First photo from the last interval and specially to address Sir Michael’s complaint about Cotty ![]()
A couple hours later, while my carrot coffee cake was cooling…we Traveled on a pilgrimage through the Valley of the 9 Hammers. Always a joy, especially the wine tastings, although I’m looking forwards to a Tripel from the Agonian monks tomorrow (someday, I will brew some!). Intervals 5 and 6 are always a sticking spot, for most people, but I blasted through them by counting down in 30 sec intervals. And thinking of cake*. Second pain face from attempting to recover from interval 9. For this workout, I have a playlist created of Windrose and Gloryhammer; Spotify – Web Player
Finally, we ended the day with some seated climbing in G.O.A.T. 8x 2min threshold intervals at seated 50rpm make it harder than Power Stations to me. Also because it is another Cotty video, and a bit boring. The cows were adorable though. Totally not fair that Cotty got to climb standing while we are glued to the saddle at an even lower cadence. Clamavi de Profundus was the music of choice…it’s good and grindy. Spotify – Web Player
Garmin Metrics; TL from 1307 to 1859–highest day yet. And recovery from 35hrs to 71…most of which came from 9 Hammers. Still productive, still going nuclear, still being told to rest, and my recovery metrics are not doing well. But at least I can rest Monday…

*seriously, that cake was motivating. And I need the calories today with 4500 burned.
Single layer carrot cake with brandy soaked raisins, a layer of honey cream cheese with the raisin brandy, then a layer of walnut struesel. Yum .
