Back to training after four week break. Pick up the training plan or start again with a ftp test.
Depends on how active you were. Wouldn’t go wrong with either approach really. I’d just start riding again. Then if you find you can’t complete the workouts, retest (at least the Half Monty) to reset your numbers.
Thanks for the reply, much as I thought, it’s always nice to see it in black and white.
Previous to the month off I was doing 5- 7 hours a week.
I had a short break and started back with a base block, my HR was up one zone over target for a couple of weeks then I got used to riding again and things balanced out
I would say start up with some less intense rides, and for any intervals knock the percentages down by around 10% and see how they feel. After a week or two, give a 4DP test or Half Monty a go to update numbers as they may be down a bit. If they are, don’t be disheartened, as these metrics are often quick to return once you start training again, especially as 4 weeks isn’t much time off the bike in the scheme of things
