i’ve had some dental work recently (a wisdom tooth and the molar next to it removed) where i’ve had an unexpected complication where the root of the wisdom tooth had penetrated the sinus area and after it was removed had left a small hole between the sinus and my mouth. So Im off the bike and all training until that closes up and the membrane heals up.
After i’ve been given the clearance to start again I will be starting at low intensite (IE: inspiration videos) for the first week or 2, and then moving on to Z2. But the problem is I don’t know what Z2 translates to with the categories in SYSTM. Would love some advice so I can start planning my workouts and return to training.
I tend to just ride the Inspiration videos in level mode and ride at a constant power that keeps my HR in Z2. To my knowledge, System doesn’t have any “proper” Z2 workouts.
I would filter for Endurance and Inspiration Rides or just do the No Vid Endurance Rides. SYSTM tends to see Z2 as pretty easy rides at around 55-65% of FTP.
thanks for the info and basically confirming what I was thinking. I might have to setup some custom workouts in IndieVelo/MyWoosh or find something in Zwift. This is an unfortunate set back as I was starting to ramp up my prep work for a massively long ride. I got an event called Around the Bay coming up in October, 300km distance. So yeah, not ideal timing for this to happen.
