(un)Official Adult Recovery Beverages of the Tour of Sufferlandria

Will certainly help you not FEEL lactic acid…

:smirk:

“foraged island botanicals”. Interesting!

Stage 2 Après with my trusty ‘fiddler’ mascot.

Sunny Ridge from Jack’s Abby seemed a perfect pairing for the beautiful scenery. A Czech Pilsner was also great for recovery as my legs start to realize what a week of suffering means.

Stage 3 - The Downward Spiral

Finally managed to make it down the mountain from The Way Out, legs seizing up from the low cadence grind, dodging :cow: and :goat: all the way. Said goodbye to @michael.cotty at the turn-off to the gasthaus, a quick recovery, then back in time to where it all began with The Downward Spiral.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the ToS, you will find me winding down in the Nine Hammers Tavern with a Gaffel Kölsch, from Köln, where my favorite style originated.

Prößt!

Survived stage 4,
bucket alert during the 4th interval :face_vomiting:
a quick shower and then… a well deserved recovery beverage, still on track :joy: despite laser goats, minions and fluffy

Had to dig deep for Stage 3 so swapping out to something dark and sweet. In honor of all our talk of chili beer, I’m having the Imperial Biscotti Chili Hazelnut Break from Evil Twin Brewing. It’s every bit as complicated as the name implies.

Was going to say - there’s a lot going on there! Also probably cost a $&@% ton to make that run.

Sounds like they cleared out the pantry for that batch! I want to try it. Sounds like how I packed my lunch today.

Simple…also not giving this up for Lent!!

Post-Downward Spiral glass. Or two. Cool Climate Aussie Shiraz from Adelaide Hills. An absolute cracker.

Man, Hacker Pschorr takes me back! And that’s the point of the great Bavarian brewhouses…you get to LIVE off them through Lent! Their Münchener Gold is a good one, too.

Nothing simple about the Reinheitsgebot. Old-school brewing, that.

Stage 4 - The Model

Ugh…not gonna lie, woke up this morning to dead legs, kind of dreading another MAP beatdown from The Model. Excited for a new ride, sure, but thinking my @:100:% tour ambitions are going in for a beating today. An appropriately somber attitude with which to kick off Lent this year, I suppose.

:face_with_diagonal_mouth:

To honor the season, today’s well-earned ARBTOS will be a Spencer Trappist Witbier, brewed by the good brothers at St. Joseph’s Abbey in Massachusetts - one of only a few Trappist monestaries outside of Belgium and the only certified Trappist Brewer in the USA (worth a visit!).

No alcohol addiction here, but Coffeeholic…
2X Americano, 4x Espressi prior to the suffering. Some stuff in between and to recover … not really adult in theory, but requires certain stomach resistance

My friend, if those aren’t “adult”, I don’t know what is…

Ha, my bad Sir. As excuse, I’m German, there is some harder stuff around for breakfast in some regions (starring to you dear state of Bavaria). :joy::wave:
