Just done an update that appeared on my screen from Wahoo after completing a workout and it has put a virus ( IDP.generic)on my laptop. AVG gave a warning, stopped the update and put it in the vault but now the shortcuts dont work so I have deleted them and I cannot reload the Systm app back onto my PC, get a message saying it has failed??? anyone else had this??
I got the same message. I was able to block the download and uninstall the program. I was able to reload the program however.
Just managed to re-load it thanks
Glad you were able to resolve this. I happen to know a little about viruses and malware. AVG (and some others) are notorious for throwing false positive “idp.generic” labels on developer-signed executables. That designator relates to generic identity protection (idp) misreads on signed updates - not just SYSTM - that freeware AV misreads. (In my experience, Norton and similar suites don’t throw quarantine on these types of updates nearly as much as the freeware.)
@CPT_A So, is it safe to allow this on my WIN11 PC. It won’t even let me delete the SYSTM program because it can’t find the UPDATE.exe file when I click to uninstall.
Yes, it’s safe. You can restore the .exe from quarantine and continue as normal.
@titanicus Thank you, Sir.
