Wahoo SUFtober Challenge - Suffering season is here

Finished with High Time, which I’ve found way too easy. This is not the first time, is it just me, or do I need to retest?

I love the badge, by the way.

I found high time easy relative to other Sufferfest sessions but I guessed it was due to the length.

That being said I think I need to retest in the next few months. I’m feeling good

We’ll see if I still feel good on Oct. 25th…

It’s hard but not brutal. Try long scream, if you find that easy, you need to retest. Need to do a separate warm up pre long scream too, it’s tough.

First two weeks of the month were an end of season break, much needed. Now have the remainder of the month to get this challenge and SUF day done. After no place like home, to break me in, on Wednesday and half Monty yesterday to set my numbers, I kicked off today with Hell Hath No Fury. That’s a tough workout to do straight out of bed, but feeling good now it’s in the bank.

Yes, I remember that Long Scream is hard (and so is Extra shot), I’ll try it again this week-end.

Capped off Suf day preparation with HHNF tonight. Not only did I avoid being boiled alive, but I have a shiny Suf badge now! And I feel like I have earned the massage scheduled for tomorrow…

I thoroughly enjoyed this month’s challenge. Nothing is more motivating and fun for me in a trainer than actual Sufferfest videos. Seriously.

Now, time to prepare for kitchen sink next weekend………

Went to bike park wales today. Awesome day out but had an off that seemed fairly innocuous at the time but the pain has got worse and a trip to hospital has revealed a fractured elbow. SUF challenge and SUF day may be at risk.

Oh nooo! I’m sorry to hear that Sir James.

I hope you heal well and fast. Healing by Suf day seems unlikely.

Wahoo, you simply need to keep it going annually… .

Did Blender on the 21st (which wasted me completely) and then High Time on the 23rd (i.e. yesterday, left me with very heavy legs on this morning’s commute) and plan to do the Kitchen Sink Mashup this weekend with no clear way of surviving that. Making plans for The Downward Spiral and/or Hell Hath No Fury therefore seems premature.

The fun part is that I am apparently still staying below my usual training and my fitness is therefore decreasing. However, my “usual training” is not training but riding longer distances:

The Wahoo fitness score would probably profit from being aware of the HRV as measured by my Garmin watch.

Oof, yes I relate to that for sure.

No riding at all for me since last weekend.

I also use Garmin hrv. I’m really interested to watch how these new metrics will correlate with Garmin body battery metric, which is usually quite accurate for me. Data, yay!

I’m also expecting to be near dead by the end of kitchen sink😅

“It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There’s a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there’s usually only one thing you can do.”

I think you are correct, since I am the polar opposite to you in terms of how I like to suffer! I relish the hard, short efforts < 5 mins, but I dread the longer threshold efforts.

Only mostly dead. Hooray!

Lucky for me, I didn’t encounter a six fingered man during My ride. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Anyone get the SUF day badge? I did 3/4 of the workouts this weekend, but no luck… wondering if I missed something

@MTLBrent hey Brent.

Badge is showing now for me when I start the app up.

Not sure what you mean by 3/4 of the workouts … are you referring to the October workouts?

I think this badge was for 3 hours ridden over the weekend and/or Kitchen Sink (which is where it started, then morphed to 3 hours riding).

if you did 3hrs of riding on the app then you should be good.

No badge for me yet, and now even the greyed out version is gone.

Same here

I got the October Challenge badge today after finishing the fourth workout. I closed out the set with High Time whose thumbnail image is Tadej Pogacar but I submit that the kings of High Time are these two characters!

Same for me.

Apologies again for the technical glitch. If you completed your 3 hours of suffering this weekend, the badge should now be visible for you.

If it is not, please try this:

  1. Complete any activity in SYSTM and save it. Then check your badge cabinet again

  2. If it is still not showing, please send me a direct message with your email address and I will get this rectified for you.
