3 week grand tour…
Based on my current fitness, it’ll be a 1 weak grand tour
I read that as 1 week, and that your fitness is so good, you’ll smash a three week Grand Tour in a week!
Man, could you imagine?
21 workouts, which if you think of as two knighthoods (and a bonus one) spread over three weeks, doesn’t sound as painful as it no doubt would be. Can debate whether or not two rest days are too Couchlandrian for a Sufferlandrian grand tour.
No rest days. You already get to play with the time zones. That’s all the rest you need.
Why does this sound appalling appealing ?
Can we, please, acknowledge that while the American market might like the term “Wahooligan”, it is utterly toxic to plenty in England especially, but across Europe?
I’d love a Tour of Sufferlandria, I’d accept a Wahoo Tour, but I won’t post, repost or associate with a “Wahooligan” anything.
Frankly, I don’t think this is gonna happen. For whatever reason, wahoo seems to be very invested in the term.
Indeed.
I get that it might seem catchy if you’re in a society where it doesn’t have the same connotations, but across the entirety of Europe and especially England its just going to be divisive.
It’s like Converse deciding they want to call anyone who wears their shoes Con-victs, or Skechers starting “The Skech-y club”, come wear Rapha and you can be a Raphist…
Some things might seem super convenient, but you need to look at what it might mean for your brand elsewhere.
I have LOADS of Sufferfest merch, I have Wahoo and WahooX stuff too and I wear it a lot, I played golf in a WahooX/Sufferfest top the other day for free marketing.
You literally couldn’t pay me to wear anything with Wahooligan on it.
I’m with you 100%. I just think wahoo doesn’t care about any of that for whatever reason. The feedback in the forums has been nothing but overwhelmingly negative yet we’re coming into the 3rd year of a Wahooligan Tour. Note Sir Rupert’s profile pic has him wearing the Wahooligan tshirt here in the forums and the SYSTM homepage has a prominent “Wahooligan Community” section.
I’ve given up on protesting. It’s clearly had no effect.
@Jon We have BEEN acknowledging this at the top of our lungs for multiple years now.
I meant more Wahoo themselves than the community.
I think we’re all pretty clear on it, yet it persists as something that makes me just look at this topic title and think “Urgh” and want nothing to do with it.
And I don’t know of anyone outside corporate who doesn’t agree with you. Like Sir @Glen.Coutts said - doesn’t seem to have made any difference.
(I find Rupert H continuing to wear that shirt in his avatar pic to be particularly galling).
My last post on this for tonight, but as much as Wahoo might dislike the idea of “suffering”, it’s entirely appropriate for a performance exercise community and it’s fairly neutral for most people to get behind.
As I say, I won’t ever go near anything with Wahooligan written on it.
I built Sufferfest content in Nintendo games
I have WahooX casual wear
I have Sufferfest gym wear
And cold weather kit
You’d do well to find someone more supportive of the brand in general for zero financial return at all.
I also fully believe in the DPF.
I won’t do a “Wahooligan Tour” for so long as that is how it is advertised and the link I’d have to provide to other people.
@Glen.Coutts I see what you did there…1 “weak” grand tour.
Uh, “weak” is reserved for me. Sorry
YES! Why the world Why Not?
@Glen.Coutts ** But I hope you’ll continue your Wahoolimabob poster series for this year’s tour! I’d love to add to my collection.
