Way Too Early Second KOS Anniversary Quest Announcement

Finally! Geez. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I thought you’d forgotten about us mere mortals.

Amazing achievement Sir and a wonderful and wonderfully engaging recap as well. You really are a model Sufferlandrian. I look forward to heckling, mocking, and otherwise supporting you in your future dumb goals.

Cheers!

Congratulations Sir @emacdoug! That’s an amazing effort, and a great writeup to wrap it up. Thanks for sharing your planning, process, the event itself, and the post-event experience with us!

So, after not having changed my bibs until after video 10. And not changing my base layer. Or changing my socks… I can say that changing your bibs is a personal thing. I didn’t change mine at all during my first KOS and had no issues. And if I had only ridden 10 this time I would’ve made it the whole way on the same bibs.

But when I did finally change them it felt glorious for at least that next video.

This is the first time I took my off shoes after every video. And I was glad I did. It definitely helped keep good blood flow. But I sometimes didn’t give myself enough time and had to rush to put them on. But definitely helped. And made walking to get bottles much easier too.

Makes emergency intestinal distress response during a KOS attempt go quicker as well.

A Tom Dumoulin moment? Yep. Happened during my first KOS. Definitely easier to run to safety without your cycling shoes on.:+1:

Videos 3-7 during my attempt. I was told I needed to suffer, probably not what they had in mind….

Yeah, GI suffering is not the right suffering. :poop:

Neither are blisters in your nether region. Forgot my chamois creme for one ride…

I had to make sure I took a dump before I started and even had that task as a ‘to-do’

I was about to ask the same too! I guess we will either have to keep our eyes peeled on FB or on this forum too

Minion Time Warp indeed! I’m in Singapore, which means when I’m talking to the States, it’s their future. So it’ll be Friday here and Dec 8 there! LOL!

Sir Glenn, I have a thread going in the Sufferlandrian Knighthood Quest Planning Committee FB group. Should I move it here or continue there? My first time, so I’m not sure what the protocol is.

I suppose it’s perfectly fine to have the thread on the FB page you mentioned but the fun should be doubled by sharing your progress on the forum too.

During my quest, I posted mainly on the main Sufferlandria FB page and every few rides, I put an update here too. The support from both channels are awesome.

There is no protocol. In the before times there was no forum. It was Facebook only. Some posted on the reg FB page some did the planning committee page. I can’t recall where I posted mine. I am a solo sufferer so it was basically radio silence for me and a quick pic to Facebook then back to suffering. I needed 100% of my focus on the task at hand and it wasn’t until after I’d finished that I went on to FB to see the comments and such.

I honestly don’t know how you people can carry on conversations on FB and the forums and tweet etc etc. during a quest. It amazes me.

And that all-too-short 10 minutes is barely enough to even caption a picture to post on the either platforms.
