2026 Tour Information

Indeed. Both are now on the docket for Day 1 (Day 0 will be stages 1a, 1b, and 2).

Dunb question regarding this. Does opening mean that you can’t start it until after that time or that you can’t complete it until after that time?

I have to take a kid to a chess tournament tomorrow and being able to start a half hour before the start time but finishing after the start time passes would save me a lot of hassle. This is all the makeup for a work trip that I have to take to Florida Monday-Tuesday

Phew, thank you so much.

My understanding is that all stages are open at the opening time. The closing time (the cutoff for starting the last stage) is 8 days and 2 hours after the opening time, if memory serves (so 0500 on 28 February Eastern time for opening means 0700 on 8 March for closing).

And closing 0400 on March 8 for the west coast of Canada/USA, if my post-ride math brain still works, right?

Work trip just got unexpectedly rescheduled, so looks good for being on start line tomorrow morning - woo hoo :t_rex:

Might have to take advantage of this years stage timings to get them all in.

Good luck to all those riding in The Tour of Sufferlandria #IWBMATTKYT

That would be correct.

@kah

If you search the forums, there is a thread titled something like “De Suf me, de hoo you”. In there, there is information about a strava side load app called “activityfix”.

My SYSTM rides are all set to import automatically as SUFFERFEST: (I also upload as private only, so I have time to do any editing before other people see it.)

Thanks for clarifying about the Tour start time. Looking at the countdown timers in the app, I think they’ve been set to exactly 7 days after the start, which means they’ll close at 1000 GMT, when it’s still the 7th here in the UK and a lot of peeps to the west won’t have even woken up on what should be the last day of the Tour for them. I think the overall timers need to be 7 days + 50 hours to properly allow for Sufferlandrian time, yes?

I think that the close times are indeed 50 hours too early. They are now at 0500 Eastern Time on March 7, which would be the right opening time for Stage 7 if the Tour worked like last year.

@Rupert am I right about this?

@emacdoug, you are certainly a better Sufferlandian than I am. I got through the current Fight Club, but after 18 minutes of the Knights Only version, I realized I had to watch 23 more “attacks” where two of the riders in the group (#50 and #101, this means you) are just freewheeling. No thanks. If i wanted that kind of demotivation, I would ride Joyride. No, scratch that, Joyride is better than KOFC because at least in Joyride there is a different spin on the time trial each time around.

OMG. That’s heretical. And hilarious  :joy: It’s one or the things that makes the OG fight club soooo much “fun”. The exact same footage repeated while you’re chewing stem and looking only at how many more seconds you’ve got to keep thrashing yourself. Classic vintage SUF!

How does the repeat attacks in the Knights version differ from the repeated sprints in Violator?

I dunno I’ve never seen the video of that one.

You have never done Violator?

Several times. Just never looked up.

Then how does your feeling in Violator compare to the your feeling in the Knights’ Version of Fight Club? How do you feel when you are done with both?

Violator is its own very special sort of hell on earth. Here’s what I said about it in December 2018

The old FC was never a favourite of mine. I LOVE the new one though.

I get a sad feeling from Violator now that it no longer exists. Even tho it always destroyed me, it was fantastic for what it was. And I really miss it.

I downloaded it and did that version about 2 weeks ago. I have tried since 2023 to do it once a quarter as the coaches’ suggested.
