Good evening,
excuse me for proposing another idea:
At times I am i need of prioritizing heart rate over power / watts. So it would be amazing to have a toggle to switch 4DP individualization (which is amazing btw) from power to heart rate. Both would use erg mode but one being based on watts (as is) and the other on 3s average of HR and therefore accounting for HR drift, fatigue, hydration etc.
Sorry for being overly creative tonight. I just love SYSTM and want to share any (at least to me) reasonable suggestion to make it even better with reasonable (at least to the layman) resource investment.
Thanks for reading
I do not see how that would work because all the workouts are based on power, and the HR is just there for additional tracking or feedback.
One possible thought would be to due a Full Frontal based on your HR and RPE, come up with some HR Zones, and then do the workouts in Level mode based on your desired HR. You would have to do the vast majority of the work to figure this out.
HR is a tough metric to use because it incorporates more than just effort. It includes fatigue, hydration, fueling, etc.. Power output is just output (within measurement error).

This would be tough to do I think, mainly due to HR lag. It can take a few minutes for HR to respond to an effort and everyone is different. Linking HR to erg, could just lead to ERG death spiral in those first few minutes as your HR will be under target. Then for the first part of a recovery your HR will be over target whilst it settles back down. That response period would be hard to account for as it varies from person to person.
