Hi, I’ve had my ACE since its release. Nothing was improved in ACE updates over the winter or did Wahoo abandon this project?
What is missing and needs improvement:
- NO destination indication by address, even though it’s a touchscreen.
- The new app doesn’t even have the option to guide me to my destination by selecting a destination on the map or entering the address, as was the case in ROAMv2. This is the biggest lack of functionality.
- The city names on the map are incredibly small. They’re impossible to read despite the larger screen. On ROAMv2, the smaller screen and city names are fine, I can still read them. ACE, this is impossible unless you have a magnifying glass.
- You can turn on and off layers via the map counter: names, segments, POIs, wind, but WHY can’t I turn off and on the route profile? I have to do it on my phone.
- The new app on my phone is terrible. The old ELEMNT was very user-friendly and intuitive. The new app is terrible, even route selection. It’s as tiring in the new app as the lack of destination search and sending it to the odometer.
- Too little space when entering the route name when you want to search for a route in ACE. You don’t see a list of found routes.
- I’m bothered by the frequent accidental screen flipping when I swipe the map with my finger. It’s too easy to flip to another page.
- I miss the LEDs from ROAMv2 - the ones imitated on the screen aren’t noticeable.
- The route elevation profile on the map could be lower. It unnecessarily takes up so much space on the map.
As you can see, all the inconveniences can be easily fixed with software. Why WAhoo can’t do this, I completely understand. It’s as if no one at their factory used ACE.
