Activities won't sync to other apps

I dunno, pre mid September it used to work fine, exactly as folks wanted. This new behaviour is an annoying regression.

Yes, there must be something on Wahoo side. It worked fine until recent Wahoo changes. For Zwift it works fine all the time.
For now I disabled Partner Integration for Wahoo Systm application (in Strava website user settings). This should disable uploading additional images from Wahoo to Strava.

But then that deletes the pictures from the front main page of your workout on Strava so you are left with no image at all

@rdo Thanks for the partner integrations tip. I’m tired of manually deleting those images.

False hope. I disabled partner integrations and am still getting the Wahoo images uploaded to Strava. Sigh

I signed up just to comment on this. Been a subscriber since November last year and this change is really annoying.
The images of the actual workout chart were really useful to know what kind of workout it was from just scrolling strava.

How do you mess it up so bad that you remove them entirely and then take 2 weeks to start uploading just a random picture rather than the work out and do it in the kost annoying fashion filling up people’s galleries?!

As a software engineer myself I am actually impressed. What kind of change did you have to do that you can’t just revert/rebase code?!
Think the rumours of engineers being laid off at same time as the rgt announcement could very well be true…

Think we are really owed a better explanation and some clarity on if/when things would be back to normal or if people should be making plans to switch to other strucurred training apps before Black Friday.

@adiallo I am sorry that it did not help.

Because of increasing problems with Wahoo eco-system (Strava+Todays Plan integration broken, dark theme forum problem, repeating (!) bug with monthly challenge badge not recognized, RGT shutdown disaster (I hate you for that), layoffs of competent people) and Wahoo incompetency to communicate problems with loyal customers I decided to cancel my subscription which ends tommorow. So this is my farewell and good bye post. I wish Wahoo customers all the best!

It is annoying having to edit every new workout and remove the empty media file on Strava (partner integrations is disabled).

I don’t have that issue. I’m either getting a blank picture or the picture is there. I agree it’s rather annoying to have to fix this, but the issue seems to be Stava rather than Wahoo. Strava changed the method of pulling in “extra” data about a month ago to “encourage” more paid subscriptions and it has backfired greatly. If it weren’t one of the few Social Media platforms I use, it would be long gone.

@jmckenzieKOS I dropped Strava last April and haven’t missed it a bit. Very glad I don’t have to deal with the latest issues with their platform.

While I peruse what people are doing on Strava and give kudos, my primary usage is as the most common integration/API. I do a ride in indieVelo or Zwift for example, and then it gets to my training application I use via Strava. If I dual record on Wahoo then I can eliminate Strava from that chain, but sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. When I was using RGT then everything would flow through Wahoo and things were good. Alas.

To add, now all of my photos have gone from my profile page on Strava only to be replaced by the oversized Wahoo pictures from every workout. How do I stop this from happening and re-instate my photos??

So, almost a month later…

Fixed
:white_check_mark: I now get the correct activity title, like before e.g. “Wahoo SYSTM: Elements Of Style”

Outstanding regressions:
:x: Imported activity is not marked as virtual ride
:x: Imported activity image is oversized
:x: Imported activity image is marked as a user photo and thus lands in the user’s photo stream

I’m using SYSTM on iOS and it was getting stuck syncing and then would recover only the first few minutes of my workouts but now it doesn’t even attempt to sync. I reached out to support and they said there is a known issue with iOS where it thinks it’s out of memory. Needless to say it’s very frustrating when I have no record of my workouts for the last week and counting and I have to record a manual activity in Strava where the only data I have is length of workout and distance if I remember to look at it before my workout ends since it vanishes completely as soon as it’s finished.

And the one that’s really annoying is the first one. Because in Strava gear gets assigned based on the activity. So now I have to go back in manually and change the bike.

The last is on Strava. That is the case for a bunch of stuff.

I think this one is fixed:
 Imported activity image is oversized

Still outstanding regressions:
:x: Imported activity is not marked as virtual ride
:x: Imported activity image is marked as a user photo and thus lands in the user’s photo stream - I’ve seen friends rides from Zwift where this is not the case (Zwift workout images in their Strava activity post, but not in their photostream, just like Wahoo used to do), so I assume it’s on Wahoo to fix…

I mean, my Strava profile looks like this now - my personal photos swamped by the generic Wahoo ones…

As to the photo fiasco, blame Strava. They changed the fame and Wahoo appears to want the original terms back.

I dunno, I just see it working correctly with Zwift activities uploaded to Strava

I did my first Zwift ride in ages and everything uploaded to Strava perfectly, like Wahoo used to do… It was correctly tagged as a virtual ride (and therefore chose the right bike for me automatically) and it uploaded images from the gaudy monstrosity that is Zwift to the event but not to my profile photostream, correctly.

Zwift is weird. But at least its Strava integration is not messed up.
