My current pain cave. Carefully tucked between two fish tanks, in a corner of of my living room, so that gaming teen boys and every visitor to the house are sure to witness (interrupt) any suffering happening at the time. Extra pressure makes diamonds? GvA approved training.
Pain cave??? That would be like trying to hide the suffering (Not Grunter Approved). If your are going to live the life of a Sufferlandrian, make it your living room*!
(*the sofa is for guests to enjoy watching the suffering).
For Stage 1, as yesterday’s shot was really blurry - my home for the week. The whole room is a bit of a work in progress (I think that’s the polite term…) but has everything I need for the Tour thus far. Have a good one all
Managed to move most of the messy stuff out of the way for a “clean” picture of the paincave. Flags were not available, so decided to do some painting on the wall.
Here a more “in action” photo, taken underway in stage 1a (also posted in the stage 1 thread). You might recognize the jersey on the side as the Jersey from the rider behind the original pro-ride, as launched for the 2021 ToS, Carl Fredrik Hagen. This particular jersey is from his campaign in Vuelta a España 2019, ending 8th in GC. A lot of suffering were certainly involved
Double Pain Cave? The hubster just arrived to keep me company from the treadmill for Stage 1. We donated the sofa bed this winter to make room for his Sufferlandria set up. Don’t worry, we replaced it with two recliners so we can still visit Couchlandria.
Stages 1: the pain cave (apologies for the mess, both offspring just got back from camping trips)
Given a somewhat ridiculous weekend, I opted to ride Stage 1 today (Monday NZ time) but still within the window. As my Monday morning didnt quite go to plan due to working till midnight, I instead craftily did my rides while working. This worked great for Cash Register but less so for the Giro TT.
The little dudes on top of the tv are my bikepacking buddies, all from my daughter. A bear called Alonsis, a Mountie Moose called Moose and a Duck called Jemima.
And yes….that is a goat hoof sneaking into the 2nd pic. The Goat is ready!
