I have recently purchased an IGPSPORT SR Mini Radar and having some difficulty with it.
The computer (Elemnt Roam V3) discovers and connects to the radar with zero issues however i cannot tell the same with the bike light function.
After pairing it show the radar and the little bike light is indicated as well but with a Yellow icon.
In the menu the bike light ON/OFF button appears but nothing is happening if i click it.
Also auto sleep mode and auto turn off mode at the end of the ride is not working at all.
So basically i have to turn on and off and set the light manually on the radar unit every time i would like to use it which is quite disappointing that was one of the main reasons i went for a smart bike light to avoid these steps.
Does anybody have experiences with the same radar unit or any 3rd party radars/light with similar issues?
Same with Garmin RTL715 radar/camera. I tried, spent hours with Bolt 2 and now Roam 3. I gave up, manually turn rear light/camera/radar on. Its really annoying as I only use day flash and I have to toggle through several light modes, doesn’t remember last mode as a power on default.
So the first thing is that you need to make sure you pair it as a radar, not a light, and it looks like you’ve done that. Otherwise you won’t get the radar info on the screen.
What that means is it’s not paired as an ANT+ light that can be auto turned off/on, it’s paired as a ANT+ radar and the auto off/on isn’t in the ANT+ radar profile. Blame Garmin, they own ANT and wrote the radar profile stuff.
This is one of the reasons why the Wahoo TRACKR Radar connects to Wahoo ELEMNTs via BT, so that they can send the auto on/off signals.
