Headwind and Polar H9 HRM

Hi,

Headwind Firmware 2.0.57

Polar H9 2.2.0

It cannot find the Polar H9 via Ant+ anymore (since the latest Update?, it worked last season). Only Bluetooth but this strap has only 1 BT connection.

BT available: shows HRM, but with unknown Ant+ id

BT unavailable: nothing found

Searching on device via button same behaviour.

A Garmin strap is found via both channels, Kickr also. But the Polar strap is also found via Ant+ by other devices like Hammerhead and Garmin units.

So Headwind and Polar Ant+ is generally working.

Anyone has similar problems or an idea?

Unpair the other one. Headwind can only support one paired sensor of each type (HR, Power, run pace, speed)

Everything is unpaired. That screenshot is the search and should only show the situation with unknown id and that it finds the Garmin. But sometimes it also has problems with the Garmin:

But the polar is never found via Ant. So I assume there is still a bug in the ant+ search code of the new firmware

Oooh my bad I didn’t realize which screen that was.

One thing I’ve found helps with the Headwind, particularly for firmware updates, is to physically stand further away from the unit to slow down the connection. Once I’ve got everything paired it works fine up close. Honestly can’t think of anything else.

@MaFL2k I have seen that with H10. It is odd where it pairs and then disappears. Log a ticket with support.

All tried. It didn’t appear via ANT+.

Support ticket is open. They send me a Tracker HR, but I hope for a firmware fix independently.

Just updated to 2.0.57 today and it won’t connect properly to my kickr bike V2 (for power or speed over Bluetooth or ANT+). It connects but doesn’t work at all. Ironically, unlike you I can get my Trackr HR sensor to work. I have a ticket submitted as well.

I also had issues with the previous firmware connecting properly but after disconnecting and reconnecting a few times I usually could get it to work. Not this time around.

It all worked flawlessly before the latest two firmwares, I’m wishing I never updated the firmware.

We will see what they say.

They got back to me. Really simple fix for me. Basically erase all sensors from Headwind using the app, unplug headwind for 30 seconds and close app, replug in headwind, and set up just power OR speed using just the ANT+ sensor option. Worked like a charm. I feel like I could of figured this out if I fiddled around a little more but super appreciative of the quick support!

Throwing this out there for other people in the future who might have similar problems:

If you have a HR sensor that does ANT+ and a single BT connection, you want to try and get the Headwind to connect via ANT - that way if the HR is already connected to something else via BT (your phone, SYSTM, whatever) it will still connect via ANT to the Headwind.

So: Connect your HR strap to other things via BT (like the Wahoo App, Strava, SYSTM, whatever) and when all the BT channels are taken, then connect it to the Headwind in the Wahoo App and it should connect via ANT.
