Help connecting HRM

Sorry if this has been asked, but I used the search function and couldn’t find anything that answered my question.

My setup: Wahoo Kickr Core connected to my Android phone via Bluetooth. (Casting to TV)

Issue: I am attempting to add my Garmin Forerunner 35 to Systm via Bluetooth as my phone doesn’t have Ant+. When I select “add device” during a workout it only shows the Kickr; am I unable to have 2 Bluetooth devices paired to it, or am I just missing something obvious?

Note: I have used my watch and headphones connected via Bluetooth to my phone, so I know it supports multiple devices. I have also checked other apps to make sure they aren’t stealing the Bluetooth signal from the Forerunner.

Any help would definitely be appreciated, thanks!

Is your FR35 setup to broadcast the HR over Bluetooth ?

It is. Sorry, should have mentioned that.

You should definitely be able to connect multiple devices to SYSTM over Bluetooth. Not sure why you can’t see it.

Is some other app on your phone, for example, hijacking the watch’s broadcast?

Not that I can tell. The only thing I can see being a possible culprit is Garmin Connect. I’ve yet to find a way to pair the watch to my phone without Connect.

You shouldn’t need to pair the watch to the phone for SYSTM to see the HR broadcast (I think). I would definitely suspect Connect here (long history of taking connections and not releasing them).

I’ll give that a shot, thanks!

A dumb question: did you click the Add Devices button in SYSTM?

Apparently so.

No luck with that idea either, thanks for the ideas. I think I’m to the point of just picking up a new HRM.

Probably going to grab a Polar H9, anyone have any opinions on chest HRM’s?

@Rainstaterunner I have a TICKR and an H10. Both have been reliable for me.

I have a Garmin Tri HRM (rock solid, all the time but only ANT+. I think the new ones are dual band now) and a TICKR.
