I recently bought a Kickr Bike Shift. I configured the virtual shifting to Shimano (Di2 or mechanic) and mimiced the exact gears of my outside bike.
However, the shifting feels very unnatural. In particular, when shifting gears up/down I instantly feel a dramatic increase/decrease in resistance and accompanying decrease/increase in cadence. This leads to an undesired spike/dip in power output, which gradually normalizes in the seconds that follow. This is especially annoying in Zwift races.
Does anyone have experience with this? Is this fixable or is it just inherent to virtual shifting and something I have to get used to?
