Kickr Core and External ANT+ power meter reading

Hello. To prepare early for the outdoor season, I want to start recording my indoor rides with my pedal power meter (Assioma Pro MX2, dual power meter).

In the Wahoo Android App, I selected Control w/ ANT+ power meter. I then entered the ANT+ ID of my power meter. There is no confirmation box, or whatever, so I am pretty sure I can just enter any ID here and the Wahoo application would accept this.

For testing purposes I did a ride with the Wahoo app, and started a ride on my Garmin Edge 840, directly connected to the same ANT+ power meter, simultaneously. After matching the data, they do not seem to match whatsoever. You would think, since both devices are using the same power readings (the Assioma’s), that the data would perfectly match. It makes me believe that the Kickr Core is not really using this external reading, at all, and is just defaulting to the Kickr’s power meter. Which, admittedly, is not THAT far off from the Assioma.

Can the Wahoo team confirm there are problems with this method or am I seeing things that aren’t there?

I’m following this thread since I have a similar set up, albeit with different power pedals and a different Wahoo trainer.

I had my pedals for a couple of seasons before I got my smart trainer and I have confidence that they are reliable and accurate. I tend to let Wahoo/Systm control the tension by connecting to my trainer, however, I keep an eye on my Garmin, which is connected to my power pedals, to see that that power numbers are fairly consistent with each other. I do the same when riding virtually.

I do the same, I record all data with the headunit paired with the power pedals. My Volt takes 15mins to warm up, there it underreads. After this time, the power is surprisingly on par.
