Knighthood attempt on February 10th 2024

Thank you, it’s great to hear there’s a logic behind it. I was planning on starting with 75%, but after yesterday and your recommendation, I’ll try 70% first and see how it goes.

Oof! At those percentages not surprised you’re having second thoughts

Yep, homemade flapjack and chocolate, blueberry and ginger cakes. Separately, those 3 together would be gross. Ice cream and pizza was ready for after.

The ironing board tip for food and drinks worked great for me. That and posting my schedule on the nearest bathroom door so it was always clear.

It’s amazing how quickly the brain recovers and you’ll be raring to crush it on 10th Feb

I remember having flapjack on my first century ride and I really liked it. It was store bought but still, I’m thinking of making a few for my attempt.

Thank you for all the tips and help, I’ll do my best when the time comes!

oh, and eat while you’re riding (preferably during cool-downs), that’ll give you more time during breaks for other stuff

The 5 back-to-back rides in the prep plan is actually quite good in setting the expectations right for that fateful day.
Other that, it’s just getting the chance to practice a change of kit and socks, nature breaks and fueling in general.

Will you make it to the grand finale, @hobbyhoarder? We are sure you will, and you will definitely crush it.
Just bring your A-game on that day and be ready to fight with those negative voices in your head. Don’t let that those voices question your resolve!

Oh be sure to get a good rest the day before the Quest.

Tomorrow’s the big day!

I’ve got my backup device ready, ironing board set up and all 10 videos scheduled in the app.

I’ve probably over complicated this, but I also have a fueling schedule printed out with what to eat/drink every 15 minutes to reach 60g of carbs per hour and enough sodium.

Since I’ll be doing 10/10 videos (on 10th day of the month), starting at 10:10 (CET) sounds silly enough. That’s 9:10 UK/3:10 US/19:00 AUS time.

If anyone wants to see my progress, here’s my Strava profile as I’ll be uploading activities as I do them:

I’ll do my best to also post updates here, but that really depends on how much time I have left between breaks and my mood. I’ll definitely read all the replies though, so keep them coming!

Starting in 15 minutes, I’m as ready as I’ll ever be. I even managed to move the bike to a better spot with view.

See you on the other side!
