Hi. I am currently in the Knighthood training plan and tomorrow I have 5 workouts scheduled as part of the plan. My actual attempt is on December 19. My understanding is that part of the rules for the Knighthood attempt to be valid you have to announce the attempt on public media. So, consider this my announcement: I plan to storm the castle on December 19.
But here’s my question. What if I get to my 5th workout tomorrow and feel really good and just continue on with another five workouts until completion. Will that count as a satisfactory Knighthood attempt since I didn’t officially announce tomorrow as my date?
I know I may be thinking way too much about this, but if I did actually do 10 tomorrow I would hate to have it not count because of a technicality. The bottom line is that I do not know how picky the minions are who validate the Knighthood attempts.
In order to cover all bases, December 19 is my planned attempt with a possibility of completing it tomorrow.
I think you’ll be fine if you decide to go ahead tomorrow. You’ve made the announcement!
Just in case, post some progress info tomorrow during your 5 video session. Doesn’t have to be every video, but something at the start at least, and then something part way through.
I agree that the list of videos in the training plan looks a little daunting, and they are not necessarily the ones I would pick. So, I don’t know there’s a high likelihood I’ll continue past 5 tomorrow, but I do want the option at least if I feel froggy.
You’ll be fine if you just do it (an approach I highly recommend ). After a few months of prep/putting it off I didn’t realise I was doing mine until #4 and didn’t mention it to anyone until #7. And lots of people seemingly do the whole thing on the quiet.
I’ve kind of decided that my ToS 2021 on the nuclear settings was good prep for a KoS attempt (it may be that I am still suffering from tour madness). In the process I am going to try and raise a bit of money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance (though I lack FB so it will largely be an email effort amongst friends). I’m working on the basis that I shouldn’t need to dial the intensity down sub 75% if I make some sensible selections route wise, but I was wondering if anyone with a similar 4DP profile to me (Attacker) has any suggestions re workouts and more importantly perhaps, workout order?
I think my profile is pretty much spot on as even the micro recoveries in workouts like Attacker (and the fake recovery before the 9th hammer) give me enough to go again … any suggestions or even constructive criticism of the approach would be welcome.
Sorry to jump on this thread. Is it OK to watch some other videos like Netflix while doing the attempt or is it a requirement to play the videos of all the work out? I can overlay the targets while watching something else to pass time but Im just worried that there might be some unwritten tradition in there that I have to watch all the suf videos for the suffering to be legit.
*Nb I am not a knight (yet). But it’s all about the suffering and putting the work in. Watching the videos is not as important as completing the effort required and suffering enough that you are proud to finish.
@Liv Watching the sufferfest videos is no suffering - maybe watching Netflix is, I don’t know it’s definitely about the workouts. By watching Netflix you’ll miss the immersive elements of the videos and question is will you stay focused and ready to do the efforts required while watching Netflix soaps? Sudden surges can be real fun, I know, but constantly - on the other hand, that’s suffering than. Missing the end of a workout and cutting into the short breaks may add to the party.
