I’m ready to go!! First Tour after being here since the beginning of January!
Also a newly naturalized citizen of Sufferlandria embarking on my first ToS. Here’s our hastily thrown together Pain Cave. Yes, that’s the “Z”-word. (Don’t judge!) The anti-sandbagging and handicap races are a nice diversion sometimes. Sound reinforcement provided by Klipsch and Adcom.
Unfortunately not from official sources (it was the early days!). the website… Red… something or other…
My outdoor pain cave – the overhanging balcony upstairs means I still train when it’s raining or snowing, and when it’s as cold as it has been in the UK this week, I don’t even need to set up a fan for my shorter sessions. It’s a 5-minute job to set it up (Kickr Core, bike, laptop, and sometimes fan) so it’s quick enough to do every morning and take down when I’m done or in the evening.
Do you ever have to dodge wildlife? Squirrels, rabbits, deer, laser goats?
We have a gangster squirrel that’s not afraid of anything who comes by for the bird seed but if I’m going at high enough RPMs he stays away!
It’s less a cave than a public pillory in the City Center surrounded by about 300 appartments but ist does it’s Job.
@AndM Yes! I think the outdoor pain cave is the best kind.
Is the microwave there to keep you nice and toasty?
2010 watching Downward Spiral on the tiny screen of my Ipod Video balanced on my stem, sound through earphones, offcut of carpet to soak up the holy water
2021 downloaded (no wifi in the paincave) videos on the app played on an old flatscreen TV through a lighning-HDMI adapter, sound pumped through a power amp and PA speaker to drown out the noise of the fan and wheel on dumb trainer. Jigsaw foam tiles on the floor make a nice area to do yoga on once the bikes are moved to the side. Bike is dedicated to trainer duties, no rear brake and no bar tape.
