Thanks, nice catch, you are right and I did not know this.
Fortunately for @dmgadry61 there are several options to workaround this. For example you can export fit file for you activity. This fit file should contain all information including position and elevation/altitude (Fit File Viewer). Use FIT File Tools (in this case Field Stripper) to remove unnecessary activity data. After that only position and elevation are saved in fit file. And then convert the fit file to gpx via another free online tool GPSVisualizer.
I just download the GPX from Strava as that includes elevation. What you can then do is create a workout based on a local ride you do or event you want to go to.
You create an erg from a GPX then import it as a workflow in Rouvy.
This works around Rouvy not letting up load your own GPX file.
Only recently, I have begun outdoor cycling again. I noticed Rouvy had the functionality to import activities from Strava. I’ve read the information and I think everything is connected correctly, but the activities are not showing. I have submitted a support ticket, but was hoping someone in the forum might be able to help.
Have you tried manually inputting a ride into Rouvy? That could tell you whether the problem is the transfer from Strava or Rouvy. I do not think it will automatically import past rides, only future ones.
ACTIVITIES must be recorded directly from the STRAVA application, and the ACTIVITIES must be uploaded as PUBLIC!
Changing the privacy settings after uploading *will not work!
On the website, go to “My Career”, and under “My Activities”, there is a button to click that will allow you to upload your activities. You would need to export your activity from Strava, and that export would have to include the power data. As @rdo mentioned, they have to be Strava public activities. I export from Garmin Connect where they do not have to be public.
If you are interested in getting Coins, it appears the upload has to be automatic. In the past I have uploaded them manually and obtained the coins, but this may have changed.
For every ride/workout that is recorded in Training Peaks (which is all of them), I record my fatigue level after the ride, and the RPE of the ride. I also write notes as appropriate about hydration, fueling, what went right, what can be improved, external factors that might have affected performance, etc.
I can also bring up previous times I did the ride beforehand to view my notes, or afterward to compare performances.
