Next update

I’d like any type of regular announcements / updates on app releases, feature restoration, what’s coming soon etc on all or any of the usual channels (the forum, FB, email) heck I’d be happy with a quarterly podcast or newsletter or both.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the thoughts/feedback. I can assure you that Workout History is in its very final stages of testing and we plan to release it soon (just don’t ask me how soon is soon). I’ll have a think about the best way to keep you all up-to-date on what’s going on with the app. Truly appreciate that you’d like more insight there.

Does the Workout History features under test include “Date Last Ridden” for an activity, along with the option to sort workouts by that date?

This still being missing six months after launch is very frustrating to say the least (for how I always used the SUF app)?

From what I can tell, the release notes page has not been updated since May. Is there somewhere else where release notes are being posted? If not, it’s pretty disappointing that Wahoo can’t be bothered to provide that information. I only tend to use the app in the shoulder seasons, and after firing up the app for the first time in a few months this week and experiencing numerous problems with video playback and crashing, it would be nice to know what’s been going on the last 4 months in terms of updates and fixes. Seems like every time I come back to the app over the last year and a half, there’s been minimal feature updates (new content excepted) and there’s still problems with playback. Very frustrating.

@Skibikehike A few things I can think of include they bought RGT so using that app is now included with the subscription, ability to drag and drop items on the calendar, cross syncing via the Wahoo cloud including activities from RGT, the Wahoo fitness app, Wahoo bike computers, Wahoo watch, updated activity history including viewing details on badge progress.

They are planning to update the workout player but that hasn’t happened yet. They are also working on allowing for exporting outside rides and allowing more interaction with non-Wahoo devices on the calendar.

The stability and general speed of the platform was one of the things I’d say has improved over the past 6 months, so it seems odd that you list that.

To be fair I speak from a sample size of 1 and tend to download most bike workouts only streaming strength and yoga in the same room as my router.

My issues with playback don’t seem to be stream/data problems. I’ve got a gigabit connection, so it certainly shouldn’t be a problem! And I run it on a reasonably beefy PC, so that also should not be a source of concern.

It seems to be more of an issue of the video player having a hard time figuring out if it’s foreground/background, full screen/windowed etc. The first couple times I tried using it last week the actual video was freezing/pausing on the screen (audio continued and the video would herk and jerk and catch up occasionally), likely because it “thought” it was in the background even though it wasn’t. None of the onscreen controls could be selected by the mouse. Then it crashed a couple times. Even something as simple as the mouse pointer remaining visible instead going “behind” the video after not being moved for a few seconds hasn’t worked properly for a year plus. It definitely used to do that in the past. Now it remains in front of the video no matter what, which my OCD self finds quite obnoxious.

In any case, a day or two after the foreground and crashing issues there was an update, and it’s seemed more stable again since. No idea what the update addressed though, given the continued lack of release notes. I thought detailed release notes were kind of software development 101.

And why is “times ridden” on the library list beside duration, IF, TSS etc seemingly impossible to re-implement? That was present in the old SF application and lost in the transition. I know activity history was finally added back in awhile ago, but you shouldn’t have to click through to each activity and then individual activity history to see a simple count of how many times you’ve done a ride/workout when viewing a list of them.

Ah makes sense, my antivirus software seems to fail to recognise either systm or rgt is running e.g. it will spawn ping messages about being idle and running background scans etc.
It has never caused me an issue but now you mention it it is annoying, covers the lower right corner so you can’t see the timer.

really hoping the outside workouts import/export and other devices as my new wahoo kickr which got me going on the WahooSystm is new gear, and everything else I have is another company, and I do a lot outside. I really like the WahooSystm so far, but would love to have it have the ability to incorporate my outside work recorded by other devices. Right now, I end up using Garmin Connect, Strava, and Training Peaks (though I am quitting that one for a while, as it was for a training program I signed up for that is over). The Wahoo Systm seems ALMOST there, but for the outside, recorded by other devices thing.

That’s what I was looking for. The blurb should be updated…and there’s nothing for 7.79…

Have there been any updates on proposed/suggested features, roadmap or timeline, longsufferingly-promised-workout-player-update, or anything at all with respect to what may be coming soon?

I of course realize this is a laughably stupid question to ask regarding Wahoo, but just throwing it out there in case anyone has any special insight.

(The DC Rainmaker interview a number of months back was extremely vague on any details.)

Since I started using SYSTM 3 years ago, there have been many requests for some simple and logical changes/improvements to the workout player and calendar. I’ve never been aware of any promises from Systm about any of them, but “hope springs eternal.”

While there is hope… :crossed_fingers:

What does this mean?

Agreed - I’ve seen any number of great ideas come out of these forums for improvements for SYSTM and Wahoo hardware. Can’t say I’ve ever seen any implementation.

For the classical Greeks, hope was one of the worst evils.
It was the one thing that stayed in Pandora’s box.

I have a little script which syncs my calendar to my intervals.icu account. It’s set up as a Chrome extension which I haven’t bothered submitting to Google, I just use it by manually loading it from the file-system.

I could probably share it by open-sourcing it, or perhaps it’s time to see if I can get it added to the chrome store?

It’s pretty basic but it does work (syncs in 7 day blocks from the date given in the querystring on the calendar page).

Incidentally, the SYSTM Fit Export extension (which is brilliant) was a real help in not having to slog through all the discovery phases so kudos to that developer if you’re on here. Chrome store has flagged that as “soon for deletion” though as it apparently doesn’t adhere to latest policies? :man_shrugging:
