It’s a joke based on the fact that there doesn’t seem there be any Sufferfest gear, ever. So, bundling the software update with that means …
Ah, ok. HA!
Must’ve not had my coffee as yet.
@donut_boy It was @jessicat who developed the browser extension.
Oh, that’s just it complaining about manifest v2. I have since updated it to manifest v3, fixing the warning.
I had my app updated yesterday and I did noticed something, the fonts have changed.
But still no new kit
Yeah unfortunately not… and that thread has quiet down significantly
Excellent - thank you.
Baby steps
I’d still take it, since it’s better than nothing
I hope to Rival firmware update
Hmm.
Paul said “we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees, why does he still hope for? But if we hope for what we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”
Might need to apply the same tack here.
But…
Elemnt app and Rival likely to be fixed and improved?
Here I am, back in the shoulder season, trying to do strength or yoga workouts and the stupid video player is continually crashing again. It clearly has issues with foreground/background (it’s often stuck “behind” my taskbar which is vertical on the left hand side of the screen), the behavior has been the same for 2-3 years now, since the video player was last updated I believe. Typically it crashes within the first 30 seconds of the video starting, although often the audio keeps playing and the controls stay on the screen while the video frame itself disappears. Exact same behavior between my 10-year old PC and a brand new one I built recently, both running Win10.
Has the video backend or whatever you want to call it been updated at all? I seem to recall one of the devs mentioning that was in the works at some point. Only reference in the release notes is about a bug fix 2 years ago. This is really frustrating.
Here’s something I have to say: Windows 10 is basically dead. Microsoft no longer supports building programs for that OS or any previous. They are “leaning” on users to run Windows11. I would HIGHLY suggest the upgrade from several viewpoints.
Updated to Win11 for the heck of it, exact same behavior. Video crashed as soon as I hit full screen. As I’ve said, great content/concept, but the desktop app has been a joke for years. On top of the constant crashing of the video player, basic functionality like sort by last ridden or showing the number of times you’ve ridden in the workout list that were in the original Sufferfest app has never been addressed by the devs as to why it’s either impossible to implement or against some sacred rule that cannot be broken.
Guess it’s time to give something else a shot.
@Skibikehike Click on the workout and there is a link to activity history which will show the last time you did the workout and also all of your results.
@Skibikehike I am not seeing that issue on my computer. Reach out to support for help.
Yeah. The situation I have during a workout is the video will go black, the workout player keeps running, I keep riding, and the video eventually comes back. A suggested workaround has been to download the workout first, but I haven’t and don’t really want to as long as the video does return. Yes. I can click on the workout in the Windows app and it’ll take me to my history of having done it. That said, IMO, there are many shortcomings in the player and calendar that have persisted for years through many repeated requests to improve things, and no improvements have been made. I’d also like to see more Sufferfest style workouts added.
@Saddlesaur I am seeing this too but it tends to be the yoga videos. I generally only see it at the outset of the video which seems to point to a buffering issue. Looking forward to the new player.
