Nit-Picks and Typos

What @titanicus said…and: I suspect that we Americans are more comfortable with being aggressive, especially for athletes. (Also for business-men, but not always busineness-women. The double standard continues. Aggressive is usually seen as good; ruthless usually is not). I think that in American English “being aggressive” means “going for it and not letting anything stand in your way.” Americans tend to think of that as a positive thing. In fact, a common cheer for a High School football team is “Be Aggressive. B-E Agressive. B-E-A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E. Be Aggressive.” [The capital letters indicate that the word is being spelled out.]

I’m not making a judgement about typical American attitudes, just noting that I think the scripts are written by Americans and should probably be understood in that context. That said, with SYSTM’s international reach, perhaps the script writers could use more cultural sensitivity.

2:24 into ‘Pro Rides: Ride London 1,’ the announcer calls it one of the shortest World Tour races. The scroll across the top, however, says “… shortest World Tour classics.”

You aren’t getting it wrong. It’s just that people are lazy speakers and even more lazy writers.

I’m retired now, but when I was working I spent a lot of time correcting the English in my staff’s documents. And they were all engineers and scientists.

They probably thought I was nitpicking too.

Fixed! Thank you!

Fixed! Thank you!

Fixed! Thank you

Thanks for catching that, I’ve fixed the description to match the workout.

This is fixed, thank you!

Weird one… my avatar on the app is not my rider type icon anymore. It is a picture of me that I don’t remember changing to!

Which app? SYSTM? The forum? Wahoo Fitness? If SYSTM (or one of the Wahoo family), check your pic on the Wahoo Fitness app and the Wahoo ELEMNT app. I suspect that somewhere in the integration that feeds SYSTM workouts to the Wahoo app ecosystem, they also integrated profile pictures. I don’t know which one dominates (or whether is always goes to most recent), but believe that if there’s a pic somewhere, it will override the rider type avatar. Not sure how to change that, but maybe you can play around with changes in the various apps and see if you can default back to the rider type avatar. I suspect if you choose a new pic that it will load to several of the apps.

Yup. That’s fixed it.

I had a profile created in the fitness app I had forgotten about. It was taking the pic from there!

Would like my rider type icon back though as can’t see any option to change other than replace photo with another from my library.

Video: Earth Cycle, Episode 3

Time: 3:24

Nit-Pick: the host calls his ride a “rinky-dink bicycle.” The subtitles change it to a “recruiting bicycle.”

Technically this is not a Nit-Pick or a Typo, but it conceptually could be.
In Cadence Builds and Holds:

In the Builds, the HR Zone is Z2 for the first recovery, and Z1 for the remaining recoveries. This seems strange, especially since the warmup was in Z2.

In the Holds, the recoveries for the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th are all Z2, the 2nd and 3rd are in Z1. This makes no sense to me. If the first is Z2 why are the following two not as well? The exercise cool down is in Z2.

Finally, in the recovery in for the 5th hold says to “keep that cadence nice and high!”, Yet the recommended cadence is 80. That is not usually considered a high cadence.

FTP Progressions 5 x 8 Missing Interval?

After the 5th five minute interval there is text that says “Just one more” or something like that, plus there are sound effects for the start and end of a new interval and a recovery period - except there is no interval and the power curve stays low.

Unless that little pimple at the end is it…

Doing sprints 12x10s (2h15m) outside should have recovery 9m50s rather than 5:50

Week with Ian Boswell 6: Spikes. About 11 minutes in…

I see this thread has gotten a good chunk of fixes in. Nice work team. Well, here goes, figured it was worth a shot to post here, though I have posted elsewhere

The weblink for Training Resources in the …More menu (iOS, Desktop and Web app) all misdirect to The Knowledge Podcast, rather than to here: https://support.wahoofitness.com/hc/en-us/sections/4402562549778-SYSTM-Training-Resources fwiw, this has been the case since launch :stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s call that an Easter egg  Probably not much we can do to fix that now.
