Plan adjustments to workout intensity

Hi all
At the end of week 5 of the All-Purpose Road plan I had ISLAGITT to do yesterday.
I wasn’t aware of the adjustments the plans can make to workout intensity and, because I was having a problem launching from the training plan summary, I just found it in the videos section and launched.
Now, I did get through it - IF 0.9 TSS 151 and all - but it was properly tough; very suffery indeed.
So I am just curious to know whether I was just being weak or if that session was meant to have been at a lower intensity (being the 4th decent one of the week).
Anyone any clue?

That session was supposed to have pushed you. I expect you have a lower intensity rest week coming up.

I’ve occasionally had the same problem. If you go through the motions of reapplying the plan with the same settings, but without actually applying it, you can see what you were supposed to be doing. Then simply load the video from the list and adjust intensity as needed.

Well done on getting through ISLAGIATT Will, it is a tough session invloving some long sustained efforts. The session is meant to have pushed you and you should now be heading into a recovery week of your plan with most likely Half Monty looming in the distance to check in on your stats

Now we have introduced the inspiration content, you shouldn’t see any reduced intensity sessions in your plans. But if you are really struggling, you always have the option to reduce the intensity manually.

I thought the same thing, but like you did it at 100% and am happy to say I was able to do it. The other two times I’ve done that video it was part of a reduced workout so even though I was a little nervous about fueling I still made it thru without adjusting and can wear that like a badge of honor.

It thrashed me two days ago. It was Butter the day before and the hike in power and cadence in the last few seconds of the workout cracked me. I finished but had not recovered.Even the warmup was tough on ISLAGIATT I dialled down 10% then another 5% .My target was about 40 watts below threshold @ 90 cadence but I could only pedal at around 25 .There did not seem any point going on, I stepped off the bike about 30 mins into the workout

Thank you all - very helpful.
It’s certainly good to know it was meant to hurt as much as it did.
