Has there been any talk of any more in the Pro Rides series? I like them a lot, but there hasn’t been a new one in years. Actually I really like anything where there’s a camera on the bike/rider, so even the On Location videos and A Week With I do time and again, though they don’t release too many too often - and now is the time of year when so many of us are stuck in doors, but only for another few months at max. I’d love to see more Pro Rides, but also more On Locations and A Week With. Heck even basic endurance/base building rides but with such videos would be great!
The ProRides were all developed by the previous SUF staff that are all no longer here, especially Sir Francois. Based on Sir Francois’ departure and the current licensing situation and the current state of video development, I don’t expect to see any more ProRides anytime soon - if ever.
The highest probability I would guess is for more On Location and Inspiration videos.
Logically, no-vids would be the easiest to create and release, but there are already a lot of those. And the way the Wahoo app has priority development, and with so many other apps that have Route and Workout creators in them (Zwift, TP, intervals.icu, etc) it seems more likely that Wahoo expects we would use those and then ride them in the Wahoo app rather than SYSTM.
Anyway, I don’t work for Wahoo. That’s just my two cents, for what it’s worth.
Thanks for the input. Of course, I hope you are wrong as none of that sounds good. Well, except for the idea of workout creating - that would be a cool feature. But one of the big appeals is the videos that come with the workouts - and for me that’s the onboard stuff - so little more of that and a lot more no video stuff isn’t the best.
I recently suffered through The Chores. It features a lot of on-bike camera footage. At least the downloaded version I used. It’s a pretty tough workout as well. Happy to recommend!
I’ll try that one out for the onboard - I’ve only ever taken The Chores workout outdoors. It’s a tough one. I know the two All Access EF videos have on-board too. If anyone knows of others, I’d love to hear.
The omnium has some, and is a great video. I find it very immersive.
Others I can think of:
The Rookie
The Best Thing in the World
Blender (not much but some of the rest periods have onboard footage in a velodrome and some fat biking) - my favourite SUF video
Team Scream (the original pro ride, great video)
