I have started using a roam 3 and loading routes from Komoot. I prefer no sound on the device.
When I go off route there is no visual indication that I’ve missed a turning , roam 1 flashed led’s red. If I turn on voice turn by turn it says rerouting but all other alerts seem to make no difference when going off route? Is this normal?
Also bell doesn’t work on map page, is this fixable?
I usually follow a route created by importing a gpx file. I don’t use automatic rerouting feature since I want to follow the route exactly as planned. In this scenario, Roam 3 does not warn me in case I deviate from the course… I think this is one of the basic functions that should be supported by the navigation, so I submitted a ticket to the support…
They replied that “the only way to receive an “off route” alert is to toggle recalculation on.” and they created an internal feedback ticket for possible further improvement. That was 8 months ago, hmm…
Thanks, what is recalculation? Is that the same as re-route In which case I want to follow the exact route (and on events it’s required to follow the exact route) making the re-route feature pointless.
I guess recalculation is the same as re-route. I agree with you 100% there are scenarios you want to follow exact route (so you can’t use re-route), but in these cases you are not warned that you are off course. This is a navigation flaw in my opinion…
