SYSTM recommended workouts

SYSTM used to tell me “you did a hard workout yesterday, today’s workout is easier” most of the time - even after something as light as “Hobart City” (w/Frein) or “Neighborhood Ride” (w/Gaimon) - anything that was a zone 2 would apparently rank as “hard ride.”

This week it seems to have flipped polarity: every day SYSTM is telling me “You’ve done less than two hard workouts in the last 7 days. Here’s a harder one” even though yesterday I did “Half is Easy” and the day before “Cadence Builds.” I’m sure the latter was processed as a “hard workout” the last time I did it (months ago) - even though it isn’t really that hard.

Also, I did “Bavaria: Burgberg” 6 days ago so the SYSTM math seems off.

Has something changed in the software? Or is this a glitch?

@sc235813 That seems to have always been a fairly simple algorithm. I am hoping to see it evolve in the future using the newly launched DTL metrics so that there is more precision on recommendations.

I’m actually liking the more aggressive picks (edited my original post). Curious to see if someone from Wahoo tech team will respond…

Same message again today: “You’ve done less than two hard workouts in the last 7 days. Here’s a harder one.” I think the software is off - at least for my case.

When I did all 31 elligible Sufferfest workouts in April it consistently said the same thing in the recommendations every day. Even tho I did most of them at 100% and they were definitely hard based on my then current 4DP.

Same today - did the January Cotty workout. On the one hand, completely against the advice of mostly Z2 and a couple of hard rides per week. On the other hand, I’m kind of enjoying the pain. It’s nice for a change…

Definitely a problem with the recommendation engine - curious if anyone else is having similar issues:

Jan 7: did Cadence Builds

Jan 8: did Half is Easy

Jan 9: did AC 5x30

Jan 10: did FTGU Season3 Part2

Jan 11: did On Location - Med Coast: Côte Vermeille

All done at full effort.

I have found it to be useless at don’t pay any attention to it.

I haven’t been following it, but it sounds like it has issues and needs work. Really hope in due course (and soon) that they implement AI to really analyze what you have done, what your goal is, what you have up coming, your fitness score, training capacity and recent training load to adjust upcoming workouts / recommend the correct workouts and also adjust/estimate current FTP.

Given lots of rivals are now doing this, I have to think this is coming soon…???

sir-james.p: I’m taking your advice. Have just turned that element off. Submitted a ticket to Wahoo tech sppt yesterday but no reply at this point.
