@Rumpled for what it’s worth, Team Scream has always gotten the better of me. I can usually make it about half way through at 100% then I have to dial it down to survival mode. So, with that being said, and knowing what this workout has done to me in the past, yesterday I started out with my FTP dialed down to 80% but left the MAP and AC at 100%. Even at that is was taxing and, TBPH, my HR was way to high even at the reduced FTP. About half way through, I just couldn’t get my HR and breathing under control so I reduced the FTP to 70% but still left the MAP and AC at 100%. That FTP reduction seemed to helped me to recover a bit more between the MAP intervals but when the MAP intervals came, they were still very taxing (very tired legs with HR and breathing a lot higher than they should be). I carried on with that FTP reduction until I just could seem to recover to manageable levels between the MAP intervals so, with about a third of the workout to go, I reduced the FTP to 60% but still left the MAP and AC numbers at 100%. I survived, hitting all MAP and AC intervals at 100% but boy, was I ever tried and fatigued at the end! Even the cool down at the end was a challenge. Most days your the hammer, some days your the nail. Yesterday, IMHO, I was the nail getting hammered. On to Stage II a little later this morning.
“Does a week of late nights and partying in Berlin count as tapering?”
To taper means to diminish gradually. There was nothing gradual about your late night partying.
I came in hot to this years tour. Thought I’d keep up the steam. Did stage 1 and 2 back to back. Bad idea. Great SUF-spirit.
I’m on a 3+1 training plan. Tour week should have been +1. No time for recovery here.
Did a scheduled 5h endurance ride (outdoors) yesterday. A nice little prolog to kick things off. Didn’t feel great when Sir Neal called and told me GvA had put me in the team today. But Team Scream is such a well-made and engaging video. Found my groove soon enough.
EF over/unders doesn’t work the same wonders in the motivational department. By then the legs were pretty spent. The last two blocks turned into a very un-nuclear 90 percent.
Now Garmin says: Rest for three days. My personal tour plan laughs: Rest day is in four days. Got to love the 50h window when other commitments interfere with suffering.
Happy touring!
Had completely forgotten how awesome Team Scream is. A little embarrassed that I’d only done it twice before, especially since I love the ProRides.
Really tough 70 mins and a great way to kick off the Wahoo Tour
Great job everyone who’s ridden it so far and god speed still to come
maybe you could post a graph, Sir. It would be easier to see what happened than to make sense of all that text
Hmmmm…is that a graph?
I think Davis himself might be showing up at your door to collect if you keep this up
Ah yes. Team Scream. Forgotten how much I love hate Team Scream. Brings out all my best weaknesses. Sorry I didn’t get to do it w the Knight Ride yesterday - misery loves company.
TURN OFF YOUR BRAIN INTERN
5 of 5 shields for a worthy SUFF TOUR stage and maximum carnage.
Sir @Coach.Mac.C must have been channeling his inner you when he created this gem, Cap’n Sir!

Wow that’s…a lot of stars.
Looks like the remastering was to add the Tour advertisement. The Laser Goat had its cameo.
Maybe he’ll take pity on me due to my pathetic attempt at Over-Unders🤷🏻♂️
However pathetic you judge your attempt to be, it beats my not doing it at all, Sir
So after updating Do As Your Told a few weeks ago and noticing how its been Desuffed, I saw today that most of the Tour vids also now have an update available, Am very hesitant to either update the rides or update SYSTM in case everything is desuffed. I at least have an old Mac where I haven’t updated any of the vids although I did see Primers has changed even though I didn’t update it myself. Anyone have any opinions on whether to update the rides or not ?
Team Scream is safe to update. No de-SUFing going on. Only adds a message from DPF.
As per usual when the tour starts, I was full of FOMO for 28 or 30 hours while folks were already getting through stage one. But I managed to wait until my time late morning here in UTC-7.
Regarding Team Scream, i was surprised to find I hadn’t ridden it since November of 2023. Man that’s hard! The feeling at the end is much like Full Frontal. Totally spent. Good times!
Even the laser goat cameo is still there.
do NOT update Who Dares unless you never want to beat Coryn Rivera and revel in her excitement for you.
edit: and as for Primers, if you’ve downloaded the original, it should stay the same. Like other vids, if you’re streaming, you’re always streaming the latest iteration
Thank you, perfect, copied and reused. “Completed”, in the loosest terms, at 65% due to pampering dodgy knee and hernia op recovery. Going to keep a careful eye on how long both last, but rather be doing something than nothing. Onwards
