Scombrid is one of those words that’s just a whole lot of fun to say. I’m not too worried about mercury. We’ve already established I’m witless
Then I noticed that Sir Mike isn’t doing max sprints, or anything like it. He’s doing a Z 2/3 ride with surges. He’s talking comfortably through the surges.
Totally missed this as I was going as hard as I could, my world went dark and silent. Pretty sure Sir Mike left the building, certainly couldn’t see him or hear him talk from where I was.
Feels like it could be quite a nice workout done on that basis, as prescribed, in ERG mode (I know it’s not recommended, but speed changes I don’t believe are an issue) and after Cash Register - it’s a long long way from nice.
Cash Register, on the other hand, has to be one of my absolute favourite Sufferfests - love it in every way. Except my pain cave has a low ceiling and always hit my hands hard at the end
you might want to send a post-ride selfie for a chance at a pair of gloves for future hand protection
This is from the DPF email today
I resemble that remark.
I’m fasting in preparation for the Donut Challenge and for Lent.
I did the On Location in a controlled fashion too and it was alright. When I tried to do it at max back in November it didn’t work cos the stated workout is impossible.
Is that your order of priority?
Yes indeed. The Donut Challenge is today, Feb. 27, and Lent doesn’t start until March 5, next Tuesday.
That second one - had to dial those sprints down. Not nice.
I did the sprints at around 30% of my NM value. I get that the focus of the workout is neuromuscular efficiency, but the bars should be orange!
Dammit, bit slow for that one.
Looks like you will have plenty of time for recovery.
In Systm’s calendar “Cash Register” isn’t marked as “(Hooligan Tour Stage 5)” whereas “Bavaria: Burgberg” is…
The usual, corrected images for you…
Drawings to follow, once I’ve stopped sweating and feeling dizzy…
Could that difference be to not downloading the newest version?
Seems to me the new versions have the Tour name and about a minute at the end for DPF.
I did not find Burgberg that terrible, I did it mostly in level mode aiming for 100% compliance, but:
There was no way I could really hit the power targets at low cadence, I achieved it once in level mode, but certainly not in the trainer’s spiral of death in Erg mode. In level mode, I tried several gear combinations, but I had trouble turning the pedals.
I tried some of the sprints in the last set in Erg mode – it did not work.
In the first set of sprints, I managed to hit the target 6 out of the 8 sprints. In the middle set, I managed to hit the target once, In the last set of sprints, I hit the target twice.
In the end, I fell quite short of the theoretical maximum (as measured by Xert), but for those who know Xert, I got a gold breakthrough with big improvements in all 3 components of my fitness signature.
In terms of TSS and IF, I only fell slightly short.
Given where you are from you should speak Bayerische.
I speak a unique and bizarre combination of Bavarian and Welsh
