Hmm, a bit late in the year for me, coincides with my birthday, the St. Patricks day bank holiday in Ireland and the start of the outdoor racing season, might not be able to finish it but I’ll definitely have a go
Couldn’t agree more - such an ill conceived name.
I’d be genuinely embarrassed for this to appear on my Strava feed and would immediately delete any reference to the term Wahooligan!
Spot on, Dame Cristy.
I’m in for another round of fun… see you all at the start line
super excited to take part in my 3rd Tour supporting DPF (that’s the point of this), and I’m excited for people who maybe have never experienced the joy and camaraderie (and agony honour victory) of the Tour to get this chance
And for anyone still feeling down about the evolving nature of cycling with @David.McQuillen.KoS and the entire crew, I’m just gonna leave this here … Let Me Google That
Now, now
The name just makes me think of films like I.D. and This is England. Probably not the vibe they’re going for. Great films though!
Glad I did ToS last year, but I suppose I’ll look forward to at least seeing what the route is like, then make a decision.
I have done the past two Tours of Sufferlandria.
The best part of the tours have been the social solidarity of many people trying to accomplish the same goal at the same time, and exchanging their reflections on the effort.
I will wait until I see what the Tour rides are, and the degree of enthusiasm it generates before deciding on what to do. I also detest the therm “Wahooligan”.
The charity part does not motivate me as much. My financial budget includes an item for yearly charitable contributions so I am always on the lookout for worthwhile causes. I do not need an external motivation to give.
The Tour wasn’t such a bad name, after all. Registered , and excited to know the route
This would be my first time attending and I’m not sure what to expect. Could anybody from previous years give a little feedback on how hard this is? Is it about an hour each day or possibly longer?
To be honest, it sounds like it’s going to be very different in terms of difficulty this year so not really easy to judge based on previous tours.
But time wise, it does usually lead to around an hour on the weekday stages and 2 or even sometimes 3 hours at the weekend. Although again, that may change.
I am assuming (hoping) there will be a couple of stages where you will wonder why on earth you agreed to sign up for this!
As @aerobrain says, the longer stages timewise should be weekendish and the shorter ones during the week are likely to be hardish. Or just flat out hard. We shall see.
You gave to deal with this with a major project. This is extremely minor compared to that.
any sriracha sauce left Sir?
That was a painful stage - for the rest of us to watch.
A serious nose swipe while climbing Cotty style or sprinting could be an option.
Will virtual watts work for the tour in RGT?
I believe so but you would need to connect via Ant+. Here is what you need to know about virtual power in RGT
First time on Tour, Bring on the Pain.
Don’t worry. The pain will come. Also, welcome to the forums @Raymond_Connor
