The Wahooligan Tour Stage 1 - Official Race Thread

Just use the stage open window and ride it “early” your time but when its open for NZ etc. Totally legit way to donthe tour and enables you to build in a rest day as needed

I’ve done that in the past. This year I’m going with the calendar day scheduling; hopefully I don’t need that rest day!

I have definitely considered riding in the early NZ part of the window, but it usually works out better for me to fit the tour in to my regular daily morning exercise schedule. And my anticipation is always very high by the time I start! Now even from here (GMT-7) I’m a few hours done with stage 1 and there are still more than 12 hours left for the stage! 50 hours is a very long time

I rode mine starting at 5am on Saturday. Just 3 hours after the window opened. Then I was able to get Sunday off.

I have done Blender five times.

Each time in my training diary it has been rated at a RPE of 9 or 10, feeling lousy after finishing it. Every time, but one I have reached PB, or second to PB in various HR or power categories except once. That time, in a previous TOS, I did it at a reduced rate, but still had a RPE of 10.
