Stage 1 done. Hours ago just didn’t have the energy to post. Thankfully I performed better in each than previous effort. Especially so since last time I did Revolver it was not after Cash Register and at a lower level. Hey, maybe there’s something to this training idea. Thanks to my better half for encouraging me.

Stage 1 is done. It’s tough being on the west coast of the US and seeing everyone finishing way earlier!

Very happy I did HM yesterday, as my 4DP now reflects a month of not riding while on vacation!

Can always start a day early as I do.
I do it to have a day off so I can do a pub run on Wednesday.

Welcome to the madhouse!! Looks like you have been for a swim and not a bike ride!! Well done, that was a tough start to the Tour!!

Yeah doing those two back to back was tough. It’s when you begin Revolver realising your shirt is already soaked through, and you’ve already had damn good thrashing fromCash Reg, but there are still 15 (ahem) nasties heading for you…

Well done everyone who’s gotten through it so far! Vive la Tour. :fist:

Note to self, don’t ever do the Full Monty the day before Cash Register and Revolver again…
Oh the agony :scream:

So,
Lesson 1: if one has a 50hr window, be wise and don’t use it to the limits for Stage 1, which I did do sadly enough, completing it just in time. @Rupert has already announced Stage 3, so there’s that. I’m late to the party!

How it went:
Spiral of death during cash register had me tone the metrics down a bit. However, I came back strong during Revolver, where I actually increased intensity twice throughout (yes, the session was also toned down from the start,… details details).
Calves are hurting, … which is a good thing (Grunter is always watching so better keep good form).

Lesson 2: 750ml of water (Tears of Agony) is not sufficient during this weather. Keep 3 bottles in total on the side for each session.

Forecast:
I’m tempted to either do Attacker already this evening, or keep it for tomorrow 5:30AM and do ā€œNo Place like Homeā€ before Attacker.
I can also do NPLH + Attacker tonight though; food for thought.

I hope that - in good Sufferlandrian spirit - your values had increased prior to TWT start. Glorious new suffering ahead!
