In honor of my suggestion, I added Violator for today’s ride in place of Defender that was scheduled.
I’d add ANY Sufferfest vid in place of Defender if it was on my schedule
I’d take pretty much anything over Violator. is how that one makes me feel, and that is just thinking about it.
While Violator is pure evil, no doubt, Defender is just relentless. I’ve completed it exactly 1 time at 100% and every other time either a combination of reducing intensity or DNF.

Yknow there used to be a Sufferfest vid called Rubber Glove ( the Sufferfest version of an FTP test) A doctor featured prominently as did a cyclist on rollers making an omelette. Classic SUF. Alas, no more. Instead we have the joy of Full Frontal and 4DP

Violator is the first workout that actually made my legs sore the next day. I did it to maximize suffering: in level mode, ignoring the power targets, and going all out on every interval. I missed a few due to exercise induced confusion/brain fog and was almost always over target. Brutal.
I’m done. No rubber gloves, just poking at a gouty toe.
