Tour 2022

Any thoughts yet on a tour for 2022, missed 2020 and 2021 through illness so hoping to get back to a point ready for 2022, also assume we will continue to support David Phinney foundation? :sunglasses:

There was an announcement made which I cannot find, but I have Feb 13-19, 2022 marked on my calendar for the ToS 2022.

@Heretic @hades07 It might have been this post from David:

There was actually a Facebook post right after this year’s tour with the dates @Heretic mentioned. I have the same timeframe marked in my calendar.

Sorry, I’m too lazy to search for it right now. Maybe someone else is up for the task.

Anyone know if there will be a Tour Announcement yet, plus training plans?

Something tells me this usually happens around Nov 19 each year?

Got an email today from Davis Phinney Foundation which says Feb 27 - March 5, so not sure if dates moved or there’s a mistake.

Sir @David.McQuillen.KoS, are you able to confirm if the ToS 2022 dates have changed or not? Thank you.

I’d be curious too. I am doing a FF on Sunday and loading training plan starting Monday and would like to know if I can fit a 10 week plan in.

Yes, those are the new dates. I’ll post that in the FB group as well.

Will there be tour prep training plans again and if so what are the duration / start date they’re built around? I’m wrapping up a plan the week of XMas so want to try and map out my schedule as best as possible between now and ToS.

Hi Sir, any reasons to share for the rather late change? Need more time for new content/functions or something with the Systm transfer stuff going on? Understand it can not fit with everyones plans etc, but it was at a pretty stable location over the years to be able to plan around it. Are you considering to add any option to still get the challenge badge by doing it at any other time (prefer not to miss the 7th consecutive tour badge)?
Best, J

Copied from Facebook post by Sir @David.McQuillen.KoS:

“Why the date change? Few reasons:

  • Because we’re going to have a new Race HQ and had to push date back so it was ready
  • Too many other things going on for us at same time in early Feb
  • Later date works better with shorter Tour (7-day format tested last year worked a treat) in terms of transition to outside riding”

I’m so happy the dates are changed. The prior Tours always spanned my birthday and now I can enjoy a birthday without suffering.

Any date will span someone’s birthday. These span mine. But I’m glad you’ll get a birthday off.

From the fb group, @David.McQuillen.KoS says:

There will be pre-Tour training plans available starting in early Jan. We will make our official route announcement on Jan 15th!
