Tour de France 2026 Picks

Hello all Sufferlandrians who follow the Tour de France. If you will Reply here, or Comment on the Sufferlandrian Facebook post, and name the riders who you believe will finish in the Top 3 of the General Classification at the end of the Tour, and two substitutes (in case one or two of your picks has to abandon); I’ll create a spreadsheet so we can follow the race and see which of us makes the better directeur sportif. Get your picks in before the Stage 1 Team Time Trial begins on Saturday!
Here’s a link to GCN’s preview show in case you need a little help:

Seixas! Only because I want to be the person who dreams of something wild shaking things up.

Then Pogacar, Vingegaard, Lipowitz, Evenepoel and Ben Healy.

I would really like to see Jasper Philipsen take the green jersey but wouldn’t it be neat if Evenepoel could? Sounds like the points format now rules that out.

Sir Evan,

Please give me your #3 and your two Subs so I can add your entry to the spreadsheet.

Hi Isa,

Tell me if you need to change this but I’ve got your first three as:

Seixas, Pogacar, Vingegaard

Two subs are: Evenepoel and Lipowitz

Looks good, Sir Ruben. Thanks!

Sorry, my list of names got away on me in that list.

I think money should be involved starting with:

Premier: Pogi = -600, Jonas = 350, Seixas = 500

Deuxieme: Jonas = -300, Pogi = 600, del Toro = 300

Troisieme: del Toro = -200, Seixas = 150, Remco = 600

But I don’t think I know what I’m talking about setting these kinds of odds.

Hi sc235813,

I’ll take your Pogacar, Vingegaard and Seixas picks for the final GC podium.

Who are your two Substitutes in case you need them?

I hope I am not too late to join in.

  2. Vingegaard
  3. Seixas
  4. Del Toro
  5. Ayuso

Thanks! No alternates. I tried to correct a typo for my 3rd pl pick of del Toro, but understand if you don’t accept the edit (though in my defense I did it before the start day).

Hey Everyone,

Sorry for the delay but I had to chase down a few people’s Substitute choices. Here is the spreadsheet showing you who is playing this game with you (and their Club), their picks and the standings after Stage 3. I don’t plan to do updates every day but I will revise the spreadsheet every few days. Good luck all of you. The race couldn’t be tighter!

Wow. Sadly, I think (barring illness or injury) this race is pretty much over. :frowning:

I’ll have to agree @sc235813, at least the race for the yellow jersey and how did Del Toro get the better of Remco in the sprint for third across the line? I really hope that it is just pure, physical talent. Hopefully the race for second and third on the podium in Paris is exciting. Unless something happens to Jonas (illness or injury) he shouldn’t have any trouble taking second on the podium in Paris.
