Hi all,
I’ve been using Systm X only from the beginning of this year and I like it so far. I normally ride a couple of centuries during the riding season and mostly ride indoors during the winters. I rarely get time to go out and ride often these days due to life commitments.
I previously trained with the Time Crunched Cyclist program which is a polarized training program, and it worked well for me. Now my questions about Systm X are:
- Is there a way to replicate a polarized training program in X?
- How do I specifically train for a 200 mi ride? Right now, I can only set a date and work backwards.
Has anyone managed to do this?
PS: Not sure if it matters but I am planning to ride the Davis Double in 2025. I have about 8 months to prepare.

First, welcome to the forums @pulibidda007!
Full disclosure, I’m not a coach, not a sport scientist, nor elite athlete in any sense of the word. But….I have done many loooong events with lots of mileage and lots of elevation and have found the gravel grinder 200 plan in SYSTM pretty much perfect for me.
You can set the end date as the date of your event but it’s a 12 week program so you can either do whatever you normally do for the next 5 months then start the GG 200 plan when you’re ready. Or, you can do some more focused training prior to your GG200 plan start and work on areas where you think you’d benefit the most (you can’t go wrong with MAP focused training, and might wanna mix in some FTP based or endurance based session to mix it up.) There’s a variety of training plans in SYSTM and I’d encourage you to explore some of them and see what you like.

That’s awesome. I will check it out. I plan to do a 12 week Mountain Fondo starting October. I will plan the Gravel 200 accordingly. Thank you.
