Usage of cassette spacer on Kickr CORE?

Hi,

I just acquired a new Kickr CORE and am setting it up for my 10-speed, Shimano equipped road bike.

I have a CS-5600 Shimano cassette (105, 10 speed, 12-27T) for it. I saw that with a 10-speed cassette I need to add the Wahoo supplied 1.8 mm spacer to the hub and then insert the cassette. Note that the cassette already comes with its own 1 mm spacer that you can see as part #14 on the Shimano tech document here: CS-5600 exploded view.

So my question is: should I use both spacers and pile them up before adding the cogs? Thanks a lot in advance.

Yes, the supplied 1mm spacer is required. It’s a Shimano thing.

Here’s a useful reference

Many thanks. Just one question: the cassette was on the original wheel I got with the bike in 2010 (I later upgraded the wheels and cassette). It did not have a 1.8 mm spacer on the hub of the old wheel. Have the hubs changed and are now longer?

Edit: I answer myself, since this is what the document you just sent seems to suggest: they have changed the hubs so that they accommodate more gears, and I assume that this is by lengthen the hub by a few millimeters.
