Video and music cut out when sound effect cues play

Had a a weird video issue last night while doing The Chores, every time the sound effect cue played for a change in effort the video and music cut out. If I turned the video off and on again in the display settings tab in the SYSTM app it would start playing again, only to stutter out when the next sound effect played.

I’ve tried recreating the error today, but no luck, even with other apps playing sound and video open in the background.

I’m running the app on
iPhone SE(2020) 128GB (24GB free)
iOS 16.7.2
SYSTM 7.69.0
I always download the videos in advance because there is no WiFi in my pain cave

I’ve been suffering from this for a couple of days and had to turn off the sound effects for the duration of workouts.

Closing down the App and turning the device off and on again seems to have fixed it.

I’ve had random issues like this in the past. Seems to be random rolling glitches that only happen once in a while and aren’t repeatable. Video and sound or cues are off. But when I close and re-open the app the issues disappear. Always frustrating in the middle of a workout when it’s not really convenient to just stop and restart.

Sorry I don’t have a solution. Only sympathy.
