Wahoo app and elemnt ace does not sync data elements any longer. Any ideas?

sync with ACE issues

So you do a ride on the Ace and it doesn’t make its way into the Wahoo cloud and then to the Wahoo App?

If so:

  1. Make sure you didn’t set a filter in the History tab of WA. (Three lines in a circle, upper right). I’ve accidentally set some dumb filters that hid all of my activities.
  2. Check that the Ace is still connected in the Wahoo App in the devices tab.
  3. Unpair the phone from the Ace and re-pair to WA. This won’t lose any settings or anything like the old gen 1/2 devices.
  4. Once it’s connected to the app, it should start syncing all the old workouts.
  5. Also check the Wi-Fi settings for the Ace in the Wahoo App. An ELEMNT will connect to Wi-Fi first and send the workouts to the cloud before it sends them to the app via Bluetooth.

Hi richie_engineer

thx a lot for your early response.

I think I need to describe my problem in more detail. It is not about shifting my rides into the Wahoo cloud. The transfer of my rides to Strava and komoot works fine. The ACE also collects the required data such as heart rates, milage, workout time etc.
My problem is as follows:

After having set up my ACE on the training page for my mtb in the wahoo app 5 months ago I was able to add an additional data elements being gear selection. I was aware that I could include up to 11 eleven data elements. This were subsequently synced with the ACE and the displayed showed all data elements as set up. Until 2 weeks ago everything worked fine. All of a sudden two elements disappeared and up to now it is impossible to re-integrate them again. I have followed all hints from the internet including wahoo recomendations to be followed. I deleted further data elements and added them again. Although the wahoo app indicated the successful sync, the display did not change. Even resetting the data elements to standard values as possible via the app, nothing changed. A reset to factory values and a re-install of the wahoo app did not solve the problem.

Hopefully you have an idea on what the heck is going on here.
Looking forward to your answer.

So the data fields on the Ace itself are messed up?

Real dumb question - are you using the right profile on the Ace itself? When you start it, the ready to ride screen will let you select the profile to use (default is Cycling). Did you pick a different profile with different data fields? I’ve done that.

If that’s not it, go into the profiles in WA, change the profile (delete a field and add it back), and let it sync. That should fix it immediately.

i have already tried it. Deleted 5 added 3 back. Result one syncs the others don’t. Same shit on and with the other profiles.

Maybe a factory reset, got nothing else.

… another one: I just found out that the data elements do get synced - but they are not shown on the display.

however, I’ll make a warranty issue…… let’s see. keep you updated. thx a lot for your help.

Hi Richie,
Problem solved: buttons on the right of the ACE decrease or increase (zoom) the display. Datafields appear or disappear accordingly.
